Tkachuk shoulder to the head of knies should be looked at as well. They gave bunting 3 games for the exact same hit. I’ve braced for them to get swept at this point. They seem to lack the killer instinct and seem indifferent about it. If they lose the series in that manner I feel it will be safe to say it’s never happening with this collection of players and Keefe as coach. It’ll be time to move on from Keefe and likely time to break up the core and start over. To say the Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Reilly era has been a disappointment would be an understatement.
I hope I’m wrong and they prove me don’t prove me right but nothing makes me beleaf otherwise. In some ways it would be fitting for a team that’s struggled to win a round 1 series for almost 20 years. They finally win a series you could easily argue they were outplayed in and should have lost. To get swept by a team that was as close to missing the playoffs as is possible. Go Leafs prove me but after being a Leafs fan for 35+ years they’ve given me PTSD.

Main reason Boston lost is because they turned the puck over with dumb passes and Florida took advantage. Florida is doing the same with Toronto. Toronto is the better team, so they need to get their shit together.

The Leafs shouldn't feel too good about dominating the play here. It's not an indication of how the rest of the games will play out. It's an indication that you haven't even earned the right to play the real Panthers yet.
These Cats don't care if you dominate the play. They only care about the score. If they're a goal ahead, then you can dominate all you want as long as you don't score. If they're a goal ahead and you score, they don't care, they'll just score another goal to regain the lead. If you score two goals to go ahead, they don't care, they'll just tie the game and score another in OT. Even if you get a late go-ahead goal and happen to win, they don't care, they'll just come back and win the next game.
That was the Panthers on the road in their 5th game in 9 days after 3 huge games to upset the Bruins in the first round. Next game is a rested Panthers team at home.

That being said, I know the pain and frustration of your team. kicking the crap out of the other team in the first and then STOPPING All the good there on out for the rest!!!!!! So being in that spot before. I do feel for all of those hurting fans. Here’s hoping that it’s a win next game.

The Leafs have had 7, I won’t say 8 because the double minor was so late in game one. He NEVER mentions the missed calls on Leaf infractions. As a Leafs fan, Knies tried hitting Bennett and Bennett just walked around him, reversed the hit into the boards and they both went down. Its NOT Bennett's fault his stick got stuck on Knies' shoulder. If you're gonna try to line up someone, be ready to get hit back, these things can happen. Especially because Bennett is a tough player. He plays on the edge and Knies didn't take this into consideration in this moment. Luckily Knies played a shift or two and skated off on his own. With 2 days rest he'll probably still play Sunday. But I have seen and heard far too many fans, including you begging for suspension(s) because they think the chances of winning the series are slim to none without suspensions to possibly TWO opposing players in Bennett and Tkachuk.

Prior to the Knies hit, Lafferty chased the puck into the opposing corner with Gudas. Lafferty grabbed a hold of Gudas and threw him down on his back to the ice in a clear as day holding or even a roughing call. Nothing was called of course, in another illegal and dangerous play where Gudas' head hit the ice. But he got up, fixed his helmet and kept playing. No one is screaming for a Lafferty suspension, let alone other Leafs fan's acknowledging the hit as bad or that it even happened. You seemed to shrug the hit off as normal behavior for a playoff game in the live stream when you saw it happen, as did I. Sorry but the hypocrisy there is laughable.
Panthers handedly took 2 games in Scotia Bank coming off of less rest going into the series than the Leafs. Panthers haven't even been home since Game 6 of the Boston series. It seems like the Leafs celebrated early and underestimated the Panthers based on their regular season history this year. If the first two games weren't a wake up call, these next two sure will be.
