That might be a '' legal play they judged'' The head was the first part of the body that was touched. That should be suspended. How many other players could see there hockey careers jerperdized? we saw Lindros, we saw many others also have ending career hits. Why does the NHL not apply the rules? we can see the replay the head was hit fisrt.

they have the replays and it is unacceptable .TRuba had his stick behind him clearly he was not playing the puck,he wanted to hit and injure that player. a buldozer hit on a smaller player. IF the NFL wich is a hard hiting game can manage those abusive hard hits so can the NHL. Players need to better discipline themselves but until the NHL changes the rule of those hard hitting checks where the head is targetted well i do not trust the NHL until they do put there intentions where there mouths are. Trouba is gonna pay for that cheap hit next season, they play each other a lot. it was only a cheap hit cuz Trouba is a garbage player now who can't score goals anymore, has to throw a hit like that in a game/series they already lost, would have made more sense to throw that hit in game 3 or 4 and change momentum.
I don’t see this as retaliation for anything. This is Trouba being Trouba. Someone has their head down and/or is not aware of where he is (and for Meier in this case I think it was both) Trouba is going to run them over. It doesn’t matter if it’s a game in the middle of the regular season or the last period of his team’s playoffs. Meier put himself in a bad position there. Great hit. Reminded me of the one on Kadri earlier this year.
