  1. Pens fan here.
Hall's too pricey for what he provides at this point and how he'd be used under Sullivan imo. Feel like he takes a lot of nights off.
Zucker wants to come back rather badly, and I think he'll take a little price cut to do that. But if he doesn't then I'd lean towards acquiring Garland. 1 mil cheaper, 4 years younger, better defensively, works harder, and is a career 2.13 5v5 P/P60…which is exceptional. Plus Vancouver's desperate to unload him and the Pens can get a free pick out of it.
It's all about even-strength play for whichever winger they get. They won't clear a PP1 spot for him. This coaching staff isn't flexible to change.
That being said, I don't think Hall's a bad idea at all. It's just not the best one in this team's situation I think. Good contingency plan.

I would rather spend 8 mil on JT Miller too, if that's still an option. He's a dynamic PP player and can fix the 1st unit. He plays LD on Vancouver's PP1, so that's a position they can free up for him.
He can also play Center, is durable, can pot 30 goals and can drive his own line. They could absorb a Crosby or Malkin injury if he's there. Saving 2 mil to settle for Hall doesn't seem worth it.

  2. That is now three Bruins I have seen the Penguins linked to whether it be trades of free agents. I have heard Taylor Hall, Linus Ullmark, and Dmitry Orlov.

I would say I could see The Penguins going after Orlov as a free agent in the off season given the fact Dumoulin is not coming back and they need a LHD to play in the top four and I did read if the Bruins trade Ullmark, he was linked as potential suitors to the LA Kings or Pittsburgh Penguins. I could see that, because Jarry I don't think is returning next year and The Penguins will be in the market for a goalie this offseason.
