Just more Ludacris bad NHL decisions from supposed hockey experts who cater to imagined opinions as opposed to the facts. If Nurse deserves 1 game, Peterpooper deserves at least 4.

What a joke the NHL is. Nurse gets suspended one game for potentially giving Hague a fat lip, while Pietrangelo gets the same sentence when he could have broken Drieseitl's wrist or arm with that vicious two-hander. This is the sh*t that happens in the NHL these days since the enforcers got mothballed. It's now open season on the skilled players.

now that you have all recovered from 12 tall boys on game night look at it this way, 4 NHL Professional Ice Hockey reporters talking about fights and fighting and intimidation and bullying in a sport broadcast on national tele and debating whether a suspension is warranted!!?? Almost 5 minutes of chatting not a skilled player on any team in the playoffs in 2023 was mention during Prime Time, wow! No? Two willing combatants making it obvious they want to fight each other. Go try your luck in the MMA I say. Wouldn't you al laccept 5 year $1M ? year contract to whack Pietragelo in a head (or deliberately try to injure or break a highly skilled player's wrist exactly like he did)with a hockey stick, just for the fun of it…drive home in your F350 and the cops don't come after you! Where else in the world can you get away with that, Yemen, Afghanistan or Syria perhaps. Really. Go Leafs Go!
The league has made it clear. Forget fighting, break your stick over the opponents arms, more effective, same punishment.
What seems to be missing from these conversations is that Vegas is the reason this series is getting out of hand. Both games they've been losing they've starting making dirty plays, and starting stuff after the whistle. The problem is, they're making dirty plays, then the Oilers are standing up for themselves and Vegas can't handle the Oilers coming back at them. If Vegas didn't act like a bunch of children every time they were losing, none of this stuff would be happening. Kings did the same thing.
I'm not sure if the Oilers are just good at getting under a team's skin, but none of the other teams in the playoffs throw tantrums when they lose. Not sure why the Oilers opponents can't seem to help themselves.
May be a ‘clear cut rule’ but both were willing to fight, if Nurse jumped him and beat the wheels off him the suspension is totally warranted, but they’ve been at it with eachother all series, let them hash it. Give them 5 each for fighting and send them to the rooms early
Didn't realize there was still a penalty on the books for instigating, after watching Stamkos throw multiple punches in the face of Matthews who was standing still with gloves on and sticks in both hands. We won't even get into into Tkachuk punching Marner in the face multiple times after the game was over and Marner was just standing there looking at the refs, I guess suspensions are only for Tkachuk getting punched and not fighting back(see Kassian), not when Matty does the punching

An instigator was given in the last 5 mins of a game twice during the regular season. In both cases, the suspension was rescinded. But somehow in the playoffs, Nurse's suspension is upheld. Hard to understand that as anything other than the NHL evening things up to placate Vegas.
How and why is Dallas Eakins on any panel. Terrible opinions and it often seems like he is still butt hurt from losing the Oilers post all these years later.

You could ask Bettman why he won't tolerate a Canadian team winning the cup. When you have a scumbag like him in charge can you really wonder why that suspension is levied ?

No, it was a terrible non reversal of suspension. This is the only one that has been upheld this YEAR! Pietrangelo’s made me sick to my stomach. His stick was over his head for like 3 second and CLEAR INTENT TO INJUR! Top 10 of worst stick infractions.
