  1. I'll be honest, I'm happy a lot of those types of hits are out of the game. But holy shit, every player threw their body into the game.

  2. Is it the difference in pad stiffness that makes hits these days almost kill the one on the receiving end?

Some of the old clips looks like attempted murder but the people just bounced up again.

  3. A lot of our top guns were targets, it was so satisfying to see Fedorov and Datsyuk serve it back.

  4. The Vladinator!
Now with these rules and suspensions, they practically eliminated open ice hits

  5. Dallas Drake brought so much momentum in 08 I'm so happy he earned his first cup with the wings

  6. 10:16 is what wings players mean about Stevie Y leading the way in the Vancouver series down two games to none, Stevie basically had no knees as you can see by the stiff fall, Stevie would hit, block shots play defensive and all the rest, If was gonna lay it on the line hull Lidstrom shanahan robataille and the rest followed suit ❤️

  7. The good ol' "Chuck" Norris division! You knew there was going to be some serious physicality every night. I miss that…

  8. It was nice seeing big Jiri Fischer laying on the body at 11:37 . His career ended way too early, but more importantly, I'm glad he is still with us because I still remember what happened in his last game. It was scary.

  9. Ah. The days of actually hard checks. They're trying to soften the nhl like the nfl has. All be flag sports in 20 years. Yes I realize player safety but you decided to play so take the hits cause its what the fans want which pays the salaries along with tv deals etc…

  10. Kinda missing one… Dominik Hasek. Took matters into his own hands to deny the Wild on a 1-on-0 by coming out of the crease and taking a hit in a way that would've been an offensive foul against Minnesota had it happened in the NBA.

  11. Fun to watch!
The only hit missing is Maltby riding Kjell Samuelsson into, and breaking the glass during the 97' finals. That hit is burned into my memory because Kjell was nearly twice the size of Maltby. That and the game stoppage to replace the panel.

  12. Thanks miss seeing my favorite hard hitting wing Konstintovoff just amazing when he was on ice you had be aware where he was at all time & Detroit would been even more dominant if he wasn’t taken out by that limo sad 😢 I grew up watching him punishing opponents

  13. This is what currently the red wings are missing is a if a defenseman that will punish you at the blue line

  14. Shawn burr, Chris chelios, Draper, maltby, kronwall, primeau, probert, DATSYUK. Lapointe, bro the list is forever

  15. It's a shame that hitting isn't a part of the game any longer. Most of these hits would be a penalty now.

  16. 8:06, how could that guy be as woozy as he looks, the hit was mikes away from his head and it didn’t hit the ice.

  17. Is this Konstantinov Best Of?? He was a such a tank, small size but still like a hurricane <3
