I just think Canadian teams need to learn to stop playing gimmicky hockey and learn to play the game the right way, the way traditional markets like Vegas & Florida play. Seriously, why does the league keep trying to make hockey in Canada work? Just pull the plug on this failed experiment already so a real hockey market like Atlanta can have an NHL team again

It’s always the same. The same people who claimed Vegas completely botched the draft and will be terrible are the same people who totally changed their whole story and now claim that the draft rules set us up for success.
They were gifted a first round pick to take Karlsson. Marchy was undrafted and given to us WITH Smith to protect Jason Demers. The original misfits were really that – no one really believed they could play at the NHL level. They got a similar deal with Tuch and Haula.
Was it beneficial that they had the expansion draft by themselves? Yes. But they made diamonds from players thay everyone else thought were coal.

Every time I see takes like this I can’t help but think, do these people not want more hockey fans out there? Vegas does things a little differently, they embrace the city and they turn the game into an event. I really believe that if more sports fans gave hockey a chance they’d be hooked, Vegas making a big deal of it and being so good so quickly is actually good for the sport

The knights are the reason I got into the NHL, I grew up watching small town teams in montana and then having a minor league in utah, it was a blast but never really had an NHL team. Once the knights were announced I was excited cause I could start following a team and not be some bandwagoner. I had no expectations of them getting to where they are and holy shit, it’s been an awesome experience. Stanley finals the first year, then now just 5 years later we’re back, it’s surreal. I have been a Minnesota Viking, and Utah Jazz fan my entire life and have never experienced such amazing luck since the 97/98 Jazz team that got their asses spanked by Michael Jordan and the bulls.
