Trade Wheeler for a pick next year, trade hellebuyck for a young goalie and prospect/1st round, and trade scheif for something similar to what we received from dubois

So the Leafs want to keep 3 goaltenders, which includes Samsonov who is pending RFA, and Murray, who is still constantly hurt? And that's on top of needing to pay for Nylander and Matthews. Wow.

Peak salary is here. 50% of NHL clubs are losing money. The US TV contract pays each team just $ 7 Million a season. The Canadian TV deal pays a little more per team. Remember the salary cap is based on 32 team profitability not some arbitrary number. Half of the Leaf team will be new players in 2023/24 but the top half of the payroll will be the same guys.
