    Thought Yzerman also wouldn't give up a 1st Rd but then if the spring of 2024, the wings are playoff bound without scoring Debrincat would be worth a 1st Rd pick. But with no time to negotiate an extension, Debrincat would have leverage. 
    This way, he's in camp and extended moderately and affordably. And with Zadina and Kubalik off the salary cap – even more affordable.

    As a seven year old I was told not to trust men offering me a sucker on the sidewalk on the way home from school. Yzerman is offering something far more dangerous – the delusion of a Stanley Cup in the next few years.

    Will DeBrincat be required to play defense in Detroit? He was -31 last season. Lalonde and Yzerman don't seem to like floaters.

    Yzerman is a certified genius. He is not flawless no one is but he constantly builds a champion at every level everywhere he goes.

    Darren I love ya n I’ll see you soon but my only comment is that Alex shouldn’t be on a line with larkin. You need a center that’s a good passer you need an Igor. I would put larkin on more of a line with Perron. I heard* didn’t research that JT Compher is a facilitator with the puck so maybe have him jump up to that first line with Raymond and Alex to work the puck around n distribute it to those goal scores. Jus my thoughts but agree believe in stevie n be patient ppl who play the game know the process so relax. We are not building a team that can crack the playoffs we are building a dynasty that can compete for a cup n not just squeak in and get murdered every year like Toronto
