I like this. I always enjoy expansion/realignment scenarios. Great to see the Whalers back, however unlikely that might be. I followed them the whole time they were in Hartford.
Two words;
Mill, Waukee
This would be awesome. I think having all four of these teams back would be fantastic.
Love most of the division names, not sure who O’Brien is named after.
The proposed Smythe is awkward. Teams from three different time zones in one division?
Just bring back Central Division. 🤘
I want Nordiques to genuinely come back
Atlanta had its chance. Fuck them.
I’d love to see detroit back in the west where they belong but that’ll never happen.
I like this, but one of the teams has to go in place of UTAH. No way is the NHL expanding to 36 teams and Utah isn’t one of them.
Orange Oilers makes me cringe
We dont wear the Hi-vis jerseys anymore
If we’re doing all this but not putting the Avs and Wings back together there is something wrong with us.
Detroit isn’t going back west to get Hartford back in the league.
Can Minnesota go back to being the North Stars?
When will people realize that hockey in Atlanta will NEVER WORK? They tried with the Atlanta Flames (now the Calgary Flames) and the Atlanta Thrashers (now the Winnipeg Jets). Get over it already Atlanta. Be happy that you have the Braves, Falcons and Hawks.
36 teams is way too many
I think you just created one of my 3 genie wishes
This is the only thing that would bring me back to the NHL
Houston, laughable given the anemic support for the Aeros before.
As a Wild fan. Absolutely not. Gone are the days of being the only central time zone team in the division.
I would be sad to see the pens and caps in different divisions again
…and the Los Angeles Queens if They Had Balls. Who cares
Millwaukee and Kansas City would likely get a team before Atlanta gets another shot
No Milwaukee, so no thanks.
Lets get Arizona shored up with a new owners, location and stadium before we expand.
#DELETE THIS!!
Makes way to much sense, and we cannot have that in this modern NHL.
/s
Wings back to being the only Eastern Time Zone team in the Western Conference. Detroit would hate this plan.
Hartford to the Adams, Toronto to the Norris, Nashville to the O’Brien and Washington to the Patrick and the Geography is much better….
God, Adams division would be so fucking sick
horrible aeroes logo, AHL logo or riot
Ah yes – Columbus, OH – the jewel of the south.
There’s a city called Quebec in southern USA?
Gonna do this in my next franchise mode on chel thanks man 😂
Calder should be the Gretzky division
O’Brian should Be Salming division
Gretzky for being Gretzky
Salming for being the first European NHLr in the HoF
Well it would break up the atlantic division and make it easier for the wings to make the playoffs lol
I think if Arizona folds like it should have by now they will become Houston’s team. And Portland with their WHL team would get great support and create instant rivalries with Seattle and San Jose. Also swap Vegas or San Jose with Minnesota.
The Patrick Division should be renamed the I-95 division.
Fuck Hartford, I want to play the Northeast teams, not the Florida teams
Fuck this
Can we fix the playoff format first
I hate the division we are in here… Other than Washington, none of those teams are rivals for us…. I’d rather be in the Patrick or Adam’s division.
Bro really put minnesota with all the Canadians and seattle lol
Kick Detroit back to the East replacing either Quebec or Hartford. I don’t see the NHL going back to either of those cities and certainly not both. Utah gets a team in to fill the empty spot in the west.
The west divisions need work, they’re a dog’s breakfast in terms of travel and timezone changes compared to what they could be. Like 1 division could be the Cali teams, Seattle, Van, Vegas. Another would be the mountain time & western central teams and the last would be the eastern central teams. There will always be a team or two in the west that isn’t aligned very well but the Wild or Jets don’t belong in a division with PST teams, just like Detroit doesn’t belong in the west.
I would love it. But the talent would be horribly diluted.
That Adams division would be so fun to watch.
Wouldn’t it make sense to put Nashville in the division with the other southern teams?
If they expand to 36, which isn’t as big of an if as some may think, I doubt these are the four. Yes, Houston and Atlanta probably get a team. But I think Salt Lake City is going to be 1/4, not Hartford. Quebec maybe but the Canadian Dollar still isn’t great. I could see another east coast city. Richmond, VA, Charleston, WV, Albany, NY or even Cleveland, OH.
How would the scheduling work? I don’t imagine you would play every team at least twice anymore, and as a fan of a west coast team living on the east coast I don’t like the thought of not getting to see my team live at least once a year
As a Minnesota fan. Absolutely not. I veto this. Actually the Smythe Division is awful. You have two teams in the Western, 2 teams in the mountain, and 2 teams in the central, and then 4 Canadian teams.
Yes, I agree. They should bring back the traditional conference and divisional names. And, whilst we’re at it, why don’t the NHL reinstate another old ice hockey tradition: DRAWS? (As in drawn matches)
