Everyone misses the Atlanta thrashers, it’s just a question of if you realize it or not.

  2. Nashville_Redditors

    Not even Atlanta misses them

  3. GoStlBlues67

I do. Kovalchuk and Heatley were quite the pair.

  4. MichealangeloRetardo

No but the flames on the other hand yes

  5. mymar101

Thanks to them I used to get games locally

  6. SawsageKingofChicago

It’s such a weird combination of great colors and awful logos

  7. Unaffordable_Housing

    “Who?”

    – All of Atlanta and the state of Georgia, as well as all surrounding states.

  8. They need a new name if Atlanta ever gets another team. Third time’s the charm?

  9. gilmour316

I was always an Atlanta Flames guy myself…

  10. witwar101

Yep. But Atlanta has blown it twice..

  11. asparagusbruh

They always felt so out of place for some reason so I think it’s okay they moved on imo

  12. I mean… I’m kinda glad they left.

  13. fight_fire_with_wood

Who??? You mean the second team to leave Atlanta? Nope they’re in Winnipeg where they belong.

  14. Sam_Soper

I actually hope Atlanta gets another shot at a franchise. The only way the Nordiques will ever get a team is through the South.

Every single day. The team that got me into hockey and there were many memories made at Phillips Arena with my brother who has since passed.

But the NHL’s days in Atlanta are not done yet….

I still maintain hockey will work there if you have an ownership that isn’t run by a racist clown. It was the same guy that thought too many black fans were attending their NBA games. You can’t survive in a market by fundamentally rejecting the community in which you reside.

I liked the team, though feel the baby blue jerseys are horribly over-hyped. That said they I liked their logos and many of their players. I wish they had never left, but as annoying as the winning jets have been since their return, I have grown used to them

Surest way for Quebec City to get a team: Atlanta to get another team.

But for real, I still have the license plate border for the Thrashers. My first team.

  19. Graycat23

Yes. 8 year STH. And yes I know a large chunk of this sub howls with rage anytime Atlanta is mentioned as an expansion target. Hockey will succeed here with an ownership group that can afford to fund the club properly and is committed to the market. (That doesn’t include any Ted Turner relatives).

  20. Call_of_Queerthulhu

No, I’d much rather have the Jets

Or the Coyotes for that matter

  21. trout440

Definitely. I miss that logo I thought was a wooden bowl.

  22. wambulancer

Haven’t watched a second of NHL since, so, yea

ETA: the way NHL has moved heaven and earth to keep the ‘yotes in Arizona but let ASG just sell off the Thrashers without a second thought says all I need to know, far as I’m concerned without a team in Atlanta NHL isn’t actually serious about Sun Belt growth, talking 6th largest market in the US

  23. Feather_Plus

    Not really, no.

Ask me about the Whalers or the Nordiques though.

  24. hockeynoticehockey

Aren’t half the NHL teams from Atlanta at some point?

  25. dr_van_nostren

Might not be missing them for much longer.

I don’t really miss them per se, I think Winnipeg is a much better hockey market. Atlanta is a big city, they’ll probably get a team again by the sounds of things. Hopefully it works this time.

  26. Humble-Reach-9600

I miss them so much, my sofa is still covered in Thrashers’ team colors!
