What a game
It really perplexes me why such a good lineup as the Rangers would lose like this. As a dual citizen of Texas and Arizona, I was split coming in, and it was GREAT to watch such a heroic clutch come through on the part of DBacks, but man… Texas, that was your game to lose, and you pulled defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Why pull Montgomery? Another time a Mgr costs the team the ballgame

Arizona Diamondbacks:
Good defensive game. Did you know that:
0-runs allowed = a 100% win ratio.
1-run allowed = a 90% win ratio.
2- runs allowed = a 80% win ratio.
3- runs allowed = a 70% win ratio.
And if you allowed more runs than that, it's just too hard to win games.
So….. allowing 3-runs was perfect. Because consistently allowing 0-2 runs is just too difficult if a goal. And allowing 4+ runs is a recipe for long-term failure.
So….. 3-runs allowed is the magic number, for constant wins.
Also, playing consistent defense allows your team to wait until conditions are favorable for success. This is what the Mariners try to do each and every game.
