My level of concern (that Pinto will not be at camp and then opening night…) 6/10. The only reason Im not 8+ is I see Dysdale and Zegras are in same boat which gives me a bit of hope. It's not just us.

Joseph and Lassi Thomson trade to clear some cap space
They likely already have a deal made for Pinto but won't do the signing until they move out some cap. Other GMs get an additional advantage if Sens are over the cap before they make a trade . Trade first then announce signing to get maximum return on player(s) being moved out.
This is the reason why people didn’t want Hamonic or Branny to be signed. LD is heavily deep and now center position which crippled the sens last year , is uncertain YET again.

I've been worried about Pinto pretty much ever since the Tarasenko deal because I thought they'd get Pinto done right after that. Even if they don't have the cap space right now, there is nothing stopping them from signing Pinto right? They could waive Joseph if they weren't able to move him by the season, and no one would take that contract. Its not ideal, but its better than a guy missing training camp in his 2nd NHL season. Anaheim is helping me cope though.

If they cant find a trade partner for him, can't they put Joseph on waivers a couple days before camp and send him down to the AHL if unclaimed to make the cap space for Pinto?

I've been concerned at the lack of movement here, but I'm now starting to wonder whether they're waiting for the NHL report on the 2018 World Juniors. If Batherson ends up suspended they're cap problems are resolved and they'll need Joseph. I just hope in the background they've been dealing in good faith with Pinto. We don't need a repeat of the Stone fiasco (I'm talking about the 2018 negotiation, not 2019).
Havent watched the episode yet, so sorry if you mention this. What are the chances ottawa files a compaint to the league about the Matt Murray LTIR situation. Seems awfully convient for them, could argue it is cap circumvention. If they would get that 25% back from a matt murray buyout. Then they would be able to sign pinto atleast.
They would get and additional 1,333,333 off the cap id this were the case.

Pinto is gonna happen but the question is, is the obvious candidate in Joseph gonna be the going? Would be good to know as soon as we could so we know what spot is up for grabs.

Why has no one solved the Pinto/Soko cap problem? How is Andlauer going to get out of this? Maybe negotiations are on pause until Andies own people are in place? I would love to see Sokolov make the team, and make a solid contribution, while the team wins.
