I agree , it’s one game and one very nice goal in pre season. Let’s leave it there. Ask the same question say, around Christmas time when young players start to run out of gas and some regress. Told Yall, Slafbustsky aint shit. They really skipped on a Dynamic Offensive forward in Cooley and went for a 1 hit wonder. Slafbustsky never had anything Elite in his game besides his Height. He doesnt have the best shot, best hands, best Skating, best at anything honestly in this draft class. Its just his frame. Montreal is soo good at drafting bums . Thats so fucking sad. And they think Jeff Gorton has a big play in their rebuild. Look at the bums he drafted for New York that dint pan out. Lias Andersson, Lafreniere etc…. Slafkovsky its just another one to add in the bust history books

Sometimes the 3rd overall pick ends up so much better than the 1st or 2nd. Look at how much better Stutzle is than Lafreneire or Byfield.

I'll keep my reserve. I will not compare his talent to Ryan Poeling because Logan Cooley has more skill than Poeling could ever dream.
However, I remember the hype around him after his very first match where he scored a hat trick, plus his 4th goal on the shoutout versus a real NHL roster, the Maple Leafs that were going for the cup.
Again, I'm not comparing both player's skill but we have to be careful.

It s so easy to say that after the draft I remember a poll where people were asked who should go first and it was like 84% wright 14% slaf and 2% cooley I found it so hypocritical from people to say we should have taken cooley nobody had him first Slaf had some good offensive highlights too
