Both Euro signings look like they are pushing for a roster spot Matinpalo is just steady Eddy back there you just don't notice him which is great for a bottom pairing big dman I think he could get that 6th spot him and Kleven would be a great bottom pairing in a couple of years if we can keep Matinpalo
Is it not an option to give Shane a 2-year contact with 1M in year one and 3.5M in year two? As long as the AAV matches what he's looking for?

I wonder if Norris is healthy enough to play, ever? I bet he returns to LTIR sooner than later, but on the bright side this frees up money to sign Pinto. As for Thompson, what a disgrace in player management by Dorion – Another nail in his GM coffin…
I think the biggest leverage either side has is Pinto's agent knowing that Dorion job is on the line. They simply know that at some point Dorion will be forced to budge.
Sit him for the year . Roby maybe ready for a shot . By December I’m sure they’ll be enough ltir to sign pinto if needed . Pinto will be worth less next year if he doesn’t sign
Smejkal has looked really good. MacEwans been brutal. Parker Kelly had a decent game finally yesterday though I'm not sold on him. And officially concerned with Norris. I'm not confident we see alot of him this season

Tarasenko was a bad contract. PD got caught in some type of hype. Half of his 5 mil could of went to PInto and the other 2.5 mil to get another good 3r liner. Kubalik should really play on the 2nd line, much better than Tarasenko. Just really bad mis management on PD's part. He needs to go along with DJ. This team isnt making the playoffs with those two calling shots.
Norris and Pinto not starting the season which they won't will be a tremendous blow to this team's chances of a good start.
When you have a guy who's future with the team is questionable to begin with, and then he has a bad camp and slow start to his 3rd year of development in the AHL, thats when you start looking to move a guy. The Sens didn't have the balls to do it then and ended up losing him for nothing because of it. Decisions need to be made on JBD and Sokolov ASAP. They are either ready for the NHL this year or you start looking to move them. Enough with the paddycake BS.
Hamonic caused the Forsberg injury, he almost did the same to Korpisalo in a preseason game, Kleven is a much better choice. But of course PD and DJ, the team clowns won't see it.

I've really liked Smejkal so far in the pre-season. On a tangent, I was thinking that we need to have him on the team since his name sounds pretty similar to Smeagol's from Lord of the Rings, and the character was obsessed with the ring. Get that ring boys, Go Sens GO!!!
I think trading brannstrom is the obvious thing to do over trading Joseph. Or trade zub and put branny to the 2nd pair.
Norris not playing yet worries me, especially him "tweaking" something during a skate which is most likely his shoulder, doesn't look promising, how's he going to handle body checks and faceoffs/shooting if he tweaks something during a skate.
Boy, can we expect some pre season games in Saint John within the next couple years? I hope so, as I'm out in Fredericton
