   But holmstrom can be sent down and recalled Friday right? Put ross on waivers then?

   I just think it makes no sense to skate all preseason with holmstrom on the first line and just give that up before seeing one game of it this year.

   So Lou is sending him down this afternoon as a paper transaction to buy himself a few more days time to work his cap/roster magic to be able to bring him back up by Saturday. Got it.

   Johnston being waived doesn’t get them compliant before the deadline, so presumably Holmstrom is going down and being recalled later in the week.
