I play in an adult league in my state..going forward neck guards are now being worn til end of the season. This should be mandatory by all hockey players from pros to pee-wee.

Not to take away from the tragedy, but didn’t he play like 2 games for Pittsburgh? They seem to be disproportionately hurt by this, compared to the rest of the hockey universe.

When I was a kid, going to games at the Forum the seats just above the glass behind the goalie were referred to as « suicide » seats. It only changed when a fan was killed (in Columbus iirc).
Since then, can you imagine sitting behind the goalie without the net?
Always takes something awful to happen to cause change.
RIP and my sympathies to his family and to the hockey world in general.
Hockey won’t be quite the same knowing this happened and could happen again.
