Keep Mathews away from the Kids and You wont Wear Them Out by the Playoffs.
Mathews is like a Spinning Chair w a Stick Taped to it.
Sure the Chair Accidentally knocks 60 Goals in the Net but the Rest of the Time, He's causing Injuries and Wearing His Line Mate Out because He wont do anything Else.
His Lines are always Playing Short Handed when He is on the Ice.
Even Nylander and Marner look Better when Mathews isn't on the Ice.
In Over Time it is like watching a Figure Skating Show , Extremely Boring Compared to the Old Rip Snorting 5 on 5 10 minute Over Time.
Why doesn't the NHL like Real Ice Hockey.
They are changing the Game to European NO Contact Ice Soccer , VERY BORING .
For some Reason the NHL Management don't like Exciting Ice Hockey.
They Prefer to Watch Their Figure Skating Euro Player, Fly around the Rink Playing with the Puck and Not Scoring.

Look How Long the Leafs Put Up with Sundin and I never Once saw Sundin Play Canadian Ice Hockey, He only ever Played Euro Ice Soccer, Especially on the Power Play when both Sundin and Kaberle wud Cover the Left Point while being both a Right Shooter.
Those 2 were the First Guys to get Scored on Twice during Their Power Play and They did it twice in 1 Game and then in the Next Game.
Worst Hockey Players to Ever be on an NHL Ice and They were the Leafs Favorites for what 10 Years of Straight Losing.
They Even Fired Really good Hockey Player for Showing Up Sundin. WTF is that.
The Player Matters More on Toronto and until they Lose that Attitude, They will never See the Cup.

I'd sign Nylander immediately. What more do you need to see? Sign him. I'd consider trading Marner. Not because he's bad, but you're likely going to get a reasonable enough forward replacement and top-pair defensemen for him while solving your cap issues long-term. Not having muzzin or shenn killed this team – there is nobody on the roster or in the pipeline that can do what those guys did. Also, McCabe probably has to go. He's not worked out with this team. I can't think of any game where he was good. There is a reason Sheldon is playing Rielly and Klingberg non-stop – they are the only two guys doing anything these days. We're also missing Holl. People were way too hard on that guy, but now you see what he did for this team. And surprise, surprise, he made Detroit better. Liligren is not a good replacement. He needs to step up too. Generally, I think Sheldon's defense options are basically his two best offensive options because of the defensive side of things suck.
Marner has a stinky punk vibe and is small. Nylander has been better at offence than Marner minus circling around the net, if he can just attack more at the net, he'd have a great season. Trade Marner for a top 2 defensemen and resign Nylander. Samsonov, Liljgrin, Klingberg also need to practice more on their defence. Pair Kligberg with a defensive minded defencemen.
On Matthews 2 hat trick games Bertuzzi was rushing the net causing open space. Bertuzzi is perfect on that line. Domi is what he is and he will pick it up if Keefe allows lines to grow some chemistry. As for the d core it's a joke. Liljegren was terrible all last playoffs and Timmons is better unfortunately he is injured. The problem I see is we need a snotty top RHD who plays defensively to play with Reilly allowing the other defenceman to move down to where they belong.
