So excited! Division looks brutal! A lot of unknowns still that hopefully pan out. I really want them to draft a stud on defense this year. IMO Two great D players and a wing would be prime, which i think we could acquire via trade or draft pics given all that cap! What key pieces do you think we are missing?

This division is a murderer's row and I really can't see NJ snagging one of the top 4 spots and making the playoffs. I mean, you never know, but it's going to be VERY hard. That said, I'm ok with that. I'd like to see them focus on giving the team time to find chemistry and see what is really needed to be added. If they can make a strong acquisition or two, awesome. But if we get a top 15 pick, it's only going to help the future anyway. More than anything, I'm excited just to see them get out there and see who's game improves. Hughes ought to get a lot better playing against consistently stiffer competition, for example.

I honestly think the Devils can surprise a lot of people this year. I think Smith will make a bigger impact than people think, and Sharangovich will make the roster and surprise quite a few people; he's was on fire in the KHL and they brought him back over to NJ, but idk… do you see him having a spot?
Ay it’s gonna be tough in the east but there’s a chance if our young guys and new additions step up, either way excited to watch the devs

Not expecting playoffs, just please finally show some improvement and some growth from Nico and Jack
Devils are 2 years away from being a legit playoff team. This team has a new GM, coach and leadership so it will take time to adjust. The players have to step up now. I honestly think if they end up last it could be good for them. The division is tough so if you don't make the playoffs at least set yourself up for another high pick . After this season things hopefully will go back to normal.
My predictions:
-Devils will be last and get a top 6 pick in the draft.
-Hughes will step up towards end of the season and will get 30 points.
-Zajac and Gusev will be traded.
-Subban will be picked up in the expansion draft by Seattle.
-Either Butcher or Zacha will be traded this year.
-Crawford and Blackwood will have a solid year.
-Bratt will continue to impress and become a go to guy.
-Nico and Palms will be the same.
-Severson will have his best season.
-Wood will have his worst season.
-Murray will not be injured this season and will impress everyone.
Imagine the devils make playoffs in the east division.
Big question: Can Jack Hughes recover from that dreadful rookie season and realize his potential? This is the season where we find out if he's Joe Thornton (a legend who also had a bad rookie season) or Nail Yakupov.
I really hope Devils can squeeze a good player from one of the capfat teams for a bag of pucks.
