The mini penguins have been a joke for the past few years. The only player that has consistently shown up for them since he has joined them has been Puustinen. His numbers may not jump off the page but he has been playing with next to no one and has led the team in points both years since joining 2 years ago. Not bad for a 7th round pick im glad he is finally getting his shot!
Malkin is absolutely terrible..he was the worst player out thier last night..trade him

I'm still of the firm opinion that even if goaltending was middle of the pack, this team would be ok and even better off now, as long as the PP was top 10. Goaltending wouldn't have meant a thing in the Arizona game without the PP finally getting a couple goals. Same as last night. Ned could have stood on his head (look, a rhyme) but without the two PP goals to get it to a tie game, they don't get one point let alone two. I'll never say goaltending isn't important, but unless all the other boxes are checked first, teams can survive and sometimes even go pretty far with ordinary, league average goaltending.
I sure hope Karlsson gets it together. I know he had a ton of shots in the game, but some of his mistakes and play in his own end are cringe worthy. What happened to the guy who could bring the puck out easily and essentially skate through the opposition? I'm starting to see shades of Whitney and Melichar when it comes to apprehensive bumbling in getting the puck out of his end. Basically 30 games in and he should have the kinks of playing with a new team worked out by now.

I believe it was a comparisation with some basketball player who's vision remained invisible because his teammates couldn't think the way he did? That one always comes to mind when I watch Puustinen. I'm curious what happens to him when Rakell and Rust are back, but he's a pleasant surprise.

I guess that's how badly the inept PP dinged them.
