Korpisalo's been extremely underwhelming. His entire career seems to be very meh.
sigh
I don't want any of the 8+ mil pieces moved. I want time given to the team under Jacques Martin to learn defense. They are close to winning many games. They need to focus, keep working on the little things, and over all the wins will come.
Let's face it, the season is likely lost already. They could make a huge run, but I sincerely doubt it. It is better to fix what you have, then sell off pieces for less than their value (and most will be less than their value when currently struggling).
Short Answer -> NO, don't make a blockbuster deal unless it REALLY makes sense.
Trade foresberg to toronto for some cap space. Use that space to bring up soogard and sign pinto. Pro
Free Forementon and let him go to a real country like the US. The senators are a garbage organization in a garbage woke country. Talking about brining in a third line guy when one of the fastest players, perfect 18 goal scorer 3rd liner is not allowed to play in Ottawa. Meanwhile your PM is allowed to buy his way out of his sexual predator rumours. JOKE…. guilty until proven innocent in Canada. Of course everyone is too afraid in Canada to talk about it. Pathetic!
You 2 are the only reason I am still interested by the Sens this season 🫡. I vote for a 1 vs 1 major trade. Similar to Winnipeg trading Laine for Dubois. + Sens should have rewarded Giroux with the C for his remaining time in the league and pass the torch to Tkatchuk after he learned how to lead a team.
Obviously Kubalik and Tarasenko are halfway out the door already. I say trade Branny too. Failing that, Waive/send down Macewen and kelly to make salary room for Pinto
Chabot for Weegar.
Bottom line its not JUST the Goalies, its the Dumb Lazy players in front of them.
🍻

No. Its not time to make a major trade. Who's going towant to take an overpriced player even-steven? And since Sens are that low on actual playing/scoring especially on the road, Sens can't give away any more top draft picks. Sens will have to play it out. No moves. Nothing. That way desperation doesn't drive Sens to do something even more stupid. The players wanted those contracts, the players will have to suffer too.
I had nightmares about Little Timmy 2 Soft's bruuuuuuutal giveaway with the empty net last night. Even if he made the play he intended too, that was going in the Sens net. Atrocious execution on the dumbest fucking play of his career.
Just sucks to see a team like philly do it and not us. We need foligio back and Fabbro rd pinto back and were good
How did Sens fans/players really expect to make p/offs if you can't win on the road? Maybe next year, Sens won't FART around nearly so much at beginning of season.
Look at the Isles and how many points they're going to need to make p/offs, 18 more wins? 19 more wins? Would trading Sens player/s slow down Isles and their march to p/offs….? Then what the F*** are u guys talking about. Season is over, maybe start congratulating Isles/Tampa on their first half successes.
If they are going to make a meaningful add at forward on someone with term I think it's got to be in a deal to a contender that either wants to shed salary or thinks that one of Ottawa's forwards provides more what they need. I'll use an example that is DEFINITELY not going to happen but might show what I mean. Let's say Toronto thinks thinks Tarasenko is a piece they need to get over the hump, they don't have enough room so they send Calle Jarnkrok back the other way. Jarnkrok is the type of player I think Ottawa should be interested in. Responsible defensively, versatile, works hard, can be useful on the PK or PP and generally fits the bill of 'pro' that Staios has said he's looking for. Problem is teams generally don't want to give up that type of player especially if they are trying to compete (Toronto would certainly not be looking at moving Jarnkrok this year for example). Staios is going to have to be creative and find the right trade partner.
Let’s go Belleville!
Pulling the goalie never works for us. They just play in our zone the whole time.
Wish I could believe in this core.
Chabot and Norris gotta go. That Norris deal was awfully stupid. Even the Sanderson deal looks dumb as fuck. My god this team is bad.
God damn the fans, I was told
We'd float on ice for American gold
We'd throw no hits and shed no tears
Now we're broken players on 8yr deals
The last of Dorion's Privateers
BE A MAN
I think a lot of fellow sens fans need to pump the brakes. The season is done and it was a disaster but that doesn’t mean blow it up there never gonna do anything. They are all not even in their primes for the most part and the season got turned upside down on them before they even played a game. Now cute the comments of GoOd TeAmS FiNd aWAy yes some times they do and there is plenty of times they don’t and most of they ones that do are typically an older team. That said I think the move that should have already happened is move hammer out any way possible even just telling him to stay home, not just because he is often a liability out there but because it sounds like he is one of the most liked guys in the room and that message of no winning not everything is good times all the time I think really needs to be sent.
It's 10 games with Jacques after 5 years with DJ. Plus they've had very little time to practice. This is why it was so important to let DJ go earlier. Waiting to fire him has set them up for failure. It was 2 years too late. The positive is this team will finally start making progress with a proper front office. All of Melnyk's people are gone.
It’s my Birthday on the 11th let’s hope they can get a win in Buffalo. Bonus points if I can get a shout out from you fellas at some point. 😂🎉
This team will certainly be able to part with one or both of Chabot and Norris with a top 5 pick. Hopefully at least one of them could bring back a decent forward or defenseman.
What about Soogard bring him up again. He played well last year
Maybe the GM reminds Tarasenko's Agent he could be finishing the season on Sens, or find out if he's willing to waive NTC, traded to a contender for parts/picks? he's got 25 points in 34 games and remains a positive player (+9) on the 3rd worst team in the league. Tarasenko scored 2 goals on 3 shots versus the Canucks, etc etc etc….
I believe in this group. But I wonder, are the Sens a Covid casualty? I remember Dorion at the beginning of the teardown talking about bringing up the players in a winning atmosphere. Which they were until the shutdown. In 20/21, there were no fans to get on the players at the games thankfully. In 21/22, a horrible November killed the optimism of the previous years 6th place finish in the North, and was hard on the players. In the summer of '22, Giroux and Debrincat brought a renewed optimism. After dealing with injuries they had a great finish. This was the first time this very young club got to experience a "winning " atmosphere. Unfortunately, injuries and youth have sabotaged this season. Part of youth is failing. I believe they can overcome this season. The management group will have their idea of what this team should look like. I see more of a 4th liner being brought in to fill the emotional/ physical presence on/ off the ice. It would have to be the absolute right add tho. I hope Staios & Co. doesn't try to restructure, as that's even more difficult.
I couldn’t stomach listening to any Sens player so after listening to the coach I turned the volume off for them .
Agreed that Chabot and Norris are the guys to go. Chabot has been poisoned by this organization and he is the most injury prone guy i.e. the guy who doesn't take care of himself. Norris needs to go to fix the culture and its not because of anything he did, but because of how unprofessional Brady is. Brady is largely responsible for the country club atmosphere and the horrible performances on the road so what better way to knock some sense into him than getting rid of his best bud? I think Norris will play up to his contract long term, he has missed a lot of hockey.
Get rid of everyone but Giroux and bring in guys who hate to lose.
