  1. I don't see trading kulak as a positive. Loved his game so far and even his last season with the team was good. To me he seems just really noticeable on the ice when he has the puck. Might just be me but.

  2. Usually as a playoff team, you want to add veteran D men, especially guys like Kulak who can anchor a pair.
He`s fair paid at 2,75m and a cornerstone on the 3rd pair.
The easiest way to free up cap space is by trading Campbell, that`s 3,85m dead cap.
After that, you might look into Foegs (2,75) or Janmark (1m). Both are expiring contracts and Foegs makes a bit too much money for a 3rd line guy that doesn`t create scoring himself. On the other side, the Oilers might keep him as an internal rental.
The Oilers need a top 4 RD to allow the 3rd pair being Kulak & Bouchard. They would like to upgrade on Ceci, but it might be better to only lower his minutes a bit. Overall, Ceci is fair value at 3,25m, especially if you see how many minutes he plays.

The Oilers have to many forwards that don`t score. Janmark, Brown, Erne – Brown and Janmark play a lot ok PK, so naturally it`s Erne as the first guy out.
Gagner did play well and added some depth scoring, he will come back. Holloway will get a spot soon.
Borberg looks ready for NHL minutes, but without injury, who would you take out?

  3. Kulak should stay, Ceci should be traded, maybe Matheson from Montreal a little expensive but not overly so

  4. I dunno why we need to hold on to a first round pick. We are in a win now mode. Sell the farm to get a few cups now along as we got McDavid.

  5. Just when you think you've seen the best game of the year, along comes the next game. Awesome game/win against Toronto. Winning with very good defense. McDavid and Draisaitl not scoring like they usually do, but it seems like they've added other facets to their game that also contribute to winning like playing more defense. Rather see them score 30 goals and win the Cup than 60 or 50 goals and go home disappointed. Matthews can have his 60. Leafs aren't going anywhere. Be cool to get to 13 wins in a row against Calgary. Just wish it was Vancouver we could do it against. Bring on Corey Perry. Still like Markstrom, but Calgary playing well lately so that is maybe not on the table. Rumor has it that he might go to the LA Things. Calgary has 3 goalies so one of them will be traded. Pat Maroon where are you? Hopefully, on the next flight to Edmonton. Perry and Maroon would add a lot of toughness, playoff experience, and grit. Conference final: Oilers versus the Vancouver Upchucks. They deserve to have their asses stomped simply because of those barf bag uniforms they wear. Unsung hero: Vinnie baby!

  6. How can a team playing this well, 19-3, need four options to fill on an on ice roster of 20. Keep Holloway in Bakersfield to work on being a C. Give him 5 more games. Definitely another sturdy stay at home defenceman. Pickard for now seems like he can really handle himself so I’m not sure looking for another back up fixes anything. So I think we only need to add a scoring R shot forward and put Conor Brown on waivers. Don’t we hope he gets claimed? We already have to pay his ridiculous bonus for next year so who cares if he gets claimed? Or just keep him on the fourth line. Really think Corey Perry should be that guy that is brought it. So much experience, still has great hands, stands in front of the net and works his ass off and league min Salary. If we works out and we think he’s got one more year, then let’s do it! If we could move Kulak and trust 🤞that Broberg can give us the same that Kulak gives us then we have $2 million in the bank. Trade Ceci, put Kulak with Nurse and now we close to 3 million left in the cap, with no reason to spend at the deadline. Park the three million, ask Connor Brown to renegotiate his bonus (why were there zero incentives in there to get the money!) to help up out. Maybe we can resign him to 1 million next year and give him milestones to hit to activate bonuses. All Bottom six forwards should have contracts like this, incentivize them. Anyway if this happens and we can save 2-3 million in the back we will need it for Leon.

  7. You would be Stoopid to break the dynamic right now. Holloway centering Kane &Brown Get all 3 going. And Kane can protect Holloway best. The only other change I would do is bring in Perry. If the right 1B goalie comes up sure snatch em up. Rodrigues stays with condors to keep both Sinner and him in action. Bring him up after TD. I have the same Tingling feeling as in 1984 when the Gretzky Oilers won thier first. We got this.

  8. Broberg's value as a trade chip is higher than what he can really provide the team right now. Ekholm and Bouchard have been so good together, it feels almost dangerous to break that up, but swapping Ekholm to right is the only way to make room for Broberg on the left, get him enough minutes, and give him a good partner to learn from. They just don't need a left D right now. I'd rather see him moved as part of a bigger deal, hopefully as a sweetener for Campbell's contract.

  9. If it ain’t broke why fix it. We were losing with Broberg and Holloway . Just in case nobody remembers

  10. Move Broberg and trade Kulak? Who ever suggest that must want Oilers have first round exit.

  11. Kulak isn’t going anywhere. You don’t notice him at all. In a good way. I would argue top bottom pairing Dman in the league.

Also, if you can toss DH in a trade with a first and a second to clear Campbell. Instead of two firsts. DO IT!

Perry will be an Oiler. Which will be a Kane like addition. In the sense of adding a player that excels in Edmonton and brings a much needed dimension to bottom 6! Mark my words. Perry requests to play with McDavid to finish his career

  12. Asterisk * time. In 1967-68 the NHL expanded from the Original Six to twelve teams. Unlike the way the draft is now, those new teams did not have a chance at getting any top-notch players. There were some good ones from the minor leagues, but those teams had little chance against the powerhouse Canadiens. I don't know for sure, but I would think that some of those wins registered by Montreal came against a couple of the new teams. The teams the Oilers have been beating are all good teams.
