GIMME FUEL, GIMME FROST, GIMME JUUSE FUCKING SAROS (yes I’ll post this every day again til I manifest this)

  2. FlyTheW1988

Which goalie are you trading for, and what are you giving up to get him?

  3. Any reason they haven’t targetted Merzlikins? He wants out and Devils need goaltending.

  4. Sinister_Mr_19

Everybody knows this including all the other teams. It’s going to cost us and that might not be a good idea.

  5. Inevitable-Tourist18

Guys it’s not enough to sit back and say but who would we get???? The answer is anyone better than Vitek. Which is basically the entire NHLs netminders. You can’t throw a season away. The Devils have a chance if the goaltending improves even slightly.

  6. heymangold

so they’re winning IN SPITE of him. get a halfway better decent goalie and they’re in the playoffs

Seasons gone. Wed need to win what like 2/3rds of the remaining games of the season to *maybe* have a chance of squeaking in, assuming all other teams continue along at their present pace. That’s a 108 pt season over 82 games, that’s just not realistic for a team currently playing at an 88 pt pace.

Sorry this fanbase doesn’t want to hear facts backed up with stats. Just root for Vitek while he lets in beach balls all night

  9. ozzman86_i-i_

another superficial analysis using stats to make everyone think that the analysis has any depth. If you think we play a sound defensive game in front of the net, you don’t watch the games, just parade around acting like you do, or you just don’t understand how the game is played.

Can the goal tending be better? absolutely, but the flaws in this team are far deeper than bad goaltending.

this team doesn’t show up for 60 minutes. They play shit defense in front of the net. Earlier in the year, they were giving up a ridiculous amount of odd man rushes, they don’t block shots, and they give up way too many high-quality shots. all of these impact the ability for a goaltender to do his job, and thus, it reflects on the analytics.

They are not utilizing Timo the correct way and not allowing him to play the style that will allow him to get 30 goals. Mercer the same way. Let’s not even talk about what is being done about Holtz. constant fucking line changes, and a coaching staff that seems to not get the right response from the team anymore.

Do people even listen to the analysis during the Telecast with former captain Bryce and devil HOF daneyko? This is what they constantly talk about. yet somehow this fan base and the people running these hockey sites always resort to some simplistic fucking analysis and just dumps on the goaltender.

Here’s something else everyone better fucking realize. this team is built to rely on goaltending, not taking much of the cap. in other words, don’t expect us to get a goaltender who’s making top money in his position. Guess what, excluding a handful of teams must of the top teams right now using the same philosophy.

Yeah I mean kiss the season goodbye then. Can’t be too shortsighted. We are in position to make a deep run for the next decade as long as we keep making the smart decisions that got us here and not the reactionary ones that dismantle teams.

  11. lucwille

Send him to the AHL….no one will claim him and if he refuses then we can termibaye his contract. We have nothing to loose going daws and schmid for the rest if the season. Everyteam knows we need a goalie and aee gonna hold us iver the fire for one. Nothing worth the pricetag year 2 of our window

  12. Snooter-McGavin

Cue the guys saying you have no one on the market “worth” paying for. Bottom of the barrel goaltending it is I guess.

  13. DokeyOakey

Typical statistician. Wins and Losses don’t just depend on goalies. Forwards gotta score, defence have to defence.

  14. pdubbs87

Not giving up two firsts and Holtz and maybe even another top prospect to get a goalie and miss the playoffs anyway

  15. nostradamefrus

My biggest rebuttal to this is look at Schmid and Daws. Daws had a good few games, don’t get me wrong, but none of them played lights out. You could easily point the solely finger at VV if others played better

And I’m not saying our only choices are these three guys. What I’m saying is what do you look at when 3 goalies all have similar problems? The defense and the coaching. Yes, half the team is injured, but remember opening night when everyone was healthy? It was a gut punch until the end

I’ve never said there isn’t a problem, all I’ve been saying is I hate seeing how much hate they’re getting when there are other factors not being considered about by the staunch VV haters. This season may very well end up being a wash but we’ll find our way

  16. HockeyFan_37

I wholeheartedly agree that Vitek is not the guy. That said, do. not. panic. buy.

  17. KevinTichenor

We need Brodeur to come out of the office

  18. GearFreaksPodcast

Id still like to see Daws with the team actually scoring in front of him. I feel like a few of his losses were a lack of goals. I hate being a V2 hater but 3 of last nights goals were absolutely inexcusable in a game the devs needed badly.

  19. thewetnoodle

It’s not the end of the world to let the season go
