What a fucking beauty
So pumped to see this guy in the NHL. His style is the exact style I love seeing goalies play and hopefully he’s successful enough to set a trend. Goaltending has gotten boring and overcoached. These days its all about positioning and percentages than it is about dictating the play and using athleticism to attack the puck. The Roy/Hasek/Brodeur was the last era we had like that, Quick was the last in the league to play that way. Hopefully Askarov ushers in the new goalie era as well as a new contender era for the Preds.
Goalies who come out to play the puck a lot is also super helpful for skaters. Theres a reason why he led AHL goalies in assists last year. Who knows maybe he’ll be good enough to make the league get rid of the stupid trapezoid rule.
I MUST see him playing more regularly in the NHL next season
