  1. Milwaukee Admirals on an 18 game winning streak and still can’t get mentioned in a news of the day video.

  2. Well let’s do the math for Arizona, 4500 fans, at 100$ price per seat, which I think is high. 450 000 dollars. Which means to come anywhere remotely close to a million, they need to sell alcohol at an alarming rate to fans.. which drives up crime.. and the nhl can’t figure out why they can’t find land for a new arena

  3. Honest to god, Caps are the most injury-riddled, yet least talked about in that context team in the league over like the last couple of years or whatever. No team has had to deal with as many injuries to top 6 forwards and top defensemen as Capitals, and yet, in these videos it's always "Vegas has so many injuries" or "Blues has so many injuries". There's not a team in the league who has had to deal with as many injuries to top players as Caps over the last ~3 years or so. Oshies injuries alone probably add up to more than half the league.

  4. Well the nice thing is if the Jets move back to Atlanta they wont have to pack up the Stanley Cup banners

  5. I don't see the Jets at risk of moving when you have the Yotes literally playing out of a college arena with no arena in sight. I'd argue that the Sharks are in a worst position; forget the on-ice performance – attendance is horrible due to Silicon Valley crashing, rampant crime, and a failing economy. And I don't think it'll ever recover. Yes, they have sponsors, but they can't hold up the team forever. Want proof? Just look at the Athletics and what happened to the Raiders.

  6. for anyone who was around in the 90s and saw real issues – these are not that bad. Also, every has lost attendance in the last 4 years. Yet non of those other teams have Canada's Richest mana nd like top 25 richest on earth or whatever Thompson is as an owner. Plus True North (Chipman's company group) has a large realestate holdings, they own the rink, get tons of concert revenue. This isn't Berry Shenkaro in 1991 people. Just go to games and carry on.

  7. It's not an enthusiasm issue in Winnipeg, it's an economy issue. People are having trouble making ends meet. So attending sporting events where the cost of tickets, parking, alcohol and snacks can run you $300 per game, is a luxury some have to give up.

  8. So a Canadian market is struggling in attendance it’s fine. A non traditional market struggles in attendance MOVE THE TEAM! The only silver lining is fans dictating the fates of franchises they don’t like doesn’t matter.

  9. I live in Winnipeg, my enthusiasm hasn’t died off for the Jets. I can’t afford a $400 night out with my kids. Most people can’t.

  10. The Jets should just go back to their old logo and stay with it.. bring nack some old players behind the bench, get creative with marketing and bring in some superstar players and fight more… then they will sell out !

  11. My best friend is a Jets season ticket holder since day one. He says they keep relentlessly raising the prices. He fans are pissed off

  12. Big W trade for the Pens. Alex Nylander only works as a top 6 player, and he isn't good enough to be on a top line in the NHL. Bemström should be able to take a spot in their bottom 6, and maybe even help out with some scoring there.

  13. I mean, Winnipeg's situation right now is exactly why the NHL is not doing as well as they think they are. Middle class people can hardly afford to even go to 1 game anymore in any market, and in Winnipeg, where most of the population is working class, it's way worse.

  14. Kinda crazy how there's talk from higher-ups about the Jets being in a precarious position yet no one will directly come out and say the Coyotes are 1 month and no stadium away from moving

  15. The Coyotes are literally a homeless team but the attendance is a problem in Winnipeg? Lol but yes metro Winnipeg is very small- not just in population, but also in corporate support. There's not a lot of money in the city to support a professional sports team. It takes a lot more than people think, I suppose.

  16. The key difference about small markets that needs to be understood: when it's good, it's great. But it's the lean years that differentiates the small markets from the big. Toronto could be the worst team in the NHL for 10 years and still sell every single season ticket because there's enough die hard fans and corporate clients in that city. Maybe not sell out games and maybe those seats are sometimes empty, but they get their money.

  17. Mullett Arena getting filled is most likely because of the novelty of an NHL franchise playing in a small college arena. Once it dies, then it's gonna be an even bigger problem than it already is.

  18. It's funny, Vancouver made a big deal about Walman doing the Griddy dance, and trying to get even. Since the Wings-'nucks game in Vancouver, the Wings have won 3 in a row, and the 'nucks have lost 4 in a row

  19. In WPG, it's not the single game tickets that are the issue. It's season tickets, and it's corporate season ticket purchasers (suites, etc). I'm in Atlanta, watched the Thrashers leave, but I don't wish ill on the market. However, I would caution ownership that, from what I've heard anyway, they ought to treat their fans better. STHers don't like it when you send tickets to will call, only for them to not be there and having no obvious way to contact customer service to find out why. Just an example of things I've heard from that market.

  20. It's funny how when Winnipeg's attendance struggles, it's about the economy and ticket prices but when it's southern markets it's "they don't support the team so move them to x Canadian city"

If Winnipeg is struggling, imagine how much worse off a Quebec team would be…
