What a joke
This team just isn’t really that good more often than not
* Need to finish our chances, UPK bailed them out multiple times
* Chaffee is a budding star, love to see him getting more ice time
* Sheary is actually completely washed why the fuck is he still playing for us every single night he literally contributes nothing positive
really hoping jbb doesn’t feel pressure to make moves to save THIS season. this season ain’t it. just set things up better for next season
i’d like to say the team should have a 2017-esque deadline but they don’t have anyone as valuable as bish or even filppula to sell lol
Blame the refs all you want but we shouldn’t have been in that position
Don’t know that I really disliked the game the team played, but that’s still a pretty tough point to drop on home ice. Have now dropped points to the Sabres, Sens and Caps on home ice in the last week and a half. Team is quickly playing control of their playoff hopes out of their own hands. Can’t really blame the officials for this one, we lost the special teams battle and didn’t close that game out with enough intensity.
Bullshit no call. No one went for a change like fucking call it. A sidenote, im not blaming him at all but Kucherov has been fighting it since the break and no one besides Hagel has steped up
fucking interesting that we start the third with penalties being 2-0 in our favor, and the game ends even, real interesting how that works
Getting real sick of *certain* forwards constantly flubbing scoring chances and open nets.
By certain, I mean pretty much all of them except our top line.
Sabres have 4 guys on the ice. Ref helps him get on bench. No call. Then they call kuch for hooking(which was legit) but still cmon
So the problem isn’t the alternate jersey’s
1 is better than 0, it’s not the result we wanted, but that refs masterclass could have happened in regulation

A PK with less then 10 minutes left and another in OT and cant stop either. Somebody needs to kick them in the fucking mouth.

Just… An all around beaut of a game. Vasy let’s in a softy late in the game. Kucherov disappears for just about the entire last 20 minutes and then just reappears in time for a brilliant defensive play costing us the OT. Hagel’s point steak ends. We have lost 4 straight at home.
Just brilliant stuff. Love watching this team right now.

Okay, I may blame the refs a lot – too much, even – but this. This just is indefensible.
Shouldn’t have been there to begin with, but that’s no excuse for someone who is paid to raise their arm to deliberately choose to not raise their arm.
Yet again, Vasilevskiy made that game almost impossible for us to win. And yet again, Cooper will refuse to rest him, ensuring that we continue getting this kind of goaltending maybe until the playoffs are just out of the question entirely. Recovery isn’t magic. It doesn’t happen when you keep putting more and more stress on your body, and we’re gaining *nothing* from doing so.
But also, one thing that consistently bothers me is that it feels like any time there are obvious penalties near the end of the 3rd or in OT—like when a 4th Buffalo player jumped onto the ice—the referees don’t want to call it to avoid « influencing the game », yet they have no problem calling one against us in the dying minutes of a tied game and then again in overtime. But I know lots of fans probably have that perception, so I checked the stats, and indeed, the Lightning this season, with their lethal power play, have received fewer power play opportunities per game than in any other season in franchise history (and taken fewer penalties, but this is still a net negative, and likely either stems from biased officiating or some coaching directive to be more disciplined which leads to fewer makeup calls being necessary—which is a dumb system but also would be an inexplicably dumb decision by our coaching staff).
I know it’s been a theme to jump down Blashills throat and how bad his coaching has been, but what facet of the game are we well coached at? The entire staff has been horrific all season long. Losing LaLonde and his X and O’s was the nail in the coffin for this team. Coop better be ready to hire three new assistants this off season. 62 games in and I still couldn’t tell you what our gameplan is every night except for wait for 86 to make all world caliber plays. Pitiful.
This team is remarkably average
Sad way to piss the game away, UPL looked really beatable tonight. Can’t depend on loser points getting us in.
Conor Sheary still looks like a garden gnome doing cardio and Chaffee continues to look like the real 2 million dollar man out there. But we’ve known this for quite some time now.
Unpopular take but Cirelli is disappointing. He plays defense but offensively just not giving what we need with such shallow lines this year. Our 2nd and 3rd lines feel lost.
Yeeeeesh. So many chances not cashed in.
Here’s a list of why we no good this year:
– Absence of Defense
– Underwhelming Bottom Six Offense
– Horrible Shots
– Shots that hit the post
– Starting Goalie having his worst NHL season
– Too much passing
– Horrible passing
– Clearing the puck == Give it the opponent
– Puck luck at 0% effectiveness
– Captain is struggling to perform well
– Hagel is a false penalty magnet
– Refs are against us on multiple occasions
– Connor Sheary
When the camera panned to the lightning bench in OT and showed Blashill drawing up the defense on the PK, who else knew that Buffalo was going to score right then and there?
Pissed away two points to a team that played worse than us thanks to officiating but man I’ve noticed this teams lack of speed tonight outside of point and maybe kuch. Sidenote I thought this was stammer’s best 5 on 5 game in awhile he deserved a goal tonight.
Sheary needs to be shipped out at the deadline. I’ll take futures for him at this point if it means we can get him off the books so we can get TJ back and call up someone who cares like merela

If not for the larger context of our losing streak, needing the points, and the season overall, I would have not been mad at this loss. It was a good game and I counted 4 shots that either were posts or inches away from goals. Still…damn. :/
