Jack only said the "See me play" thing because he was coming off an injury and Arvidsson took a run at his head. He was saying people are there to see him in action – NOT sit out injured. And they were playing at HOME in front of JERSEY FANS. It was not a random prima donna chirp as everyone is twisting it into.

Ottawa is the same, they blame goaltending but there aren't enough above average goalies for each team so it is really poor defense.

Wellll tbh..the East overall is pretty much a joke. Has been for the 21s century .. besides a guy named Crosby and Vaslevsky the East is Inferior… the Stanley Cup will once again be decided in the WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS.
There's a few things the Devils need:
A hardass coach who brings structure. Bolsters the defense and keeps goalies from getting overworked.
Reinvent the Crash Line.

As a Ranger fan going to that Rangers Devils game two weeks ago and seeing how bad the Devils power play is was just hilarious. WHO PASSES THE PUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SLOT?! I was starting to get pissed off watching bad hockey from the Devils lmao.
Weren't the Devils supposed to be Cup contenders? At least that's what I recall everyone yammering on about at the start of the season.

Not laughing, kind of hoping NJ can pull out of this spiral. Just adding a goaltender isnt going to fix anything. They are so tight against the cap, not sure how they are going to make it work. They can dip into the well and deal with San Jose again, this time for Khakonen. To be honest, they need a Khakonen and a Ruuta. Maybe for Daws and Miller? Still not close to working. No one wants to retain anything for NJ unless a massive haul comes back.
People pay to watch mcdavid play. Not jack Hughes. Know your place.
As a Rangers fan we're blessed with two starter quality G's in Igor and Quick but even 3rd stringer Domingue (who ALSO has playoff exp already last yr against us lol) if i were NJD i'd be tryna trade for Quick before the playoffs but as a Ranger fan i love having a 1A/1B but maybe if they made a ridiculous offer it could work out for us but i love knowing we have an ELITE goalie option even if one goes down/has a cold streak etc
IF my Rangers get NJD in the playoffs id just start Quick and save Igor, Quick's numbers are actually better and while i think Igor's the better option in the playoffs rn, i sure as sht aint worried about an NJD team with bad defense and THREE goalies ALL over 3.0 GGA and ALL UNDER 90% save % – thats wild, fwiw they should just take a chance on our third stringer (Louie Domingue) who was called into PLAYOFF action in the past and was actually good, only played once this year but let in 1 goal in a win with a 96%+ save %

As a NYR fan if i were the NJD's right now i think they should just take a chance on OUR third stringer (Louie Domingue) who was called into PLAYOFF action in the past and was actually good, only played once this year but let in 1 goal in a win with a 96%+ save % – could be a diamond in the rough, look at what a lot of our backups have done over the years behind solid longtime G's like Richter/Henrik/Igor (Cam Talbot, Alexander Georgiev etc both starting elsewhere as far as im aware)
Lindy Ruff has literally run Nico Daws into the ground. He's been starting almost every game over the past month. I think his performances these past two games has been a direct result of becoming overworked. He's not used to this workload.
And to think the Devils could have traded for Hellebuyck in the off-season, but weren't willing to pay him $9M a year.
Missing Dougie so much right now! We need a defenseman that can add some grit and size and a goalie to step up and stop letting soft goals in! Our power play needs to start burying the biscuit and we need our stars to shoot the puck and crash the net more! We don’t seem to want to get in front of the net and give up the body either. Back checking needs to be stressed more as well! I still believe we can turn it around and make the playoffs but we need to stop acting like brats and get it done!
As a flames fan, even though Markstrom is 34, he's one that the devils should try for, even though they likely wont get him. He's fixed quite a few of his inconsistencies over the last couple years and when he's playing good, he plays GOOD. Arguably one of, if not, the best goaltender in the league when he's performing to his expected level. If our season crashes out and he wants a trade, or if he wants one sooner and doesn't veto the devils, they should put up a crazy offer for him.
everybody likes to take a kick at the teams that are in the basement, but you know what, not every team can be top 3 or 5 and they are learning, growing and finding your rhythm, doesn't happen over night nd fans and supporters have to stick with them, thats what gives them the drive to keep trying….
