I mean yeah maybe it’s someone they can pursue in the offseason but would be half impossible to make work before the deadline.
That’s the thing with me when it comes to acquiring new players they look good on their previous teams with good plays and great scoring chances, but when they join the leafs all that skill and tenacity go down

No, maby three years ago, but not now. He's an average d-man for the next 3yrs, after that his contract would be an anchor. And the leafs cannot afford even one bad contract with the amount they are paying their top guys, which that contract would be after three years.

The Leafs have big blue line issues. Its a lot more than just needing a Right Shot D. That said, $6.5M at rhat age for such a long term? Can he give the Leafs a solid 3-4 years before regression? If so that might be worth the cost.
Those 2 Blues are too old and too expensive and have too much term left, better to go younger as these guys are not the players they used to be, makes no sense to make these trades with St. Louis
The Leafs "Surprisingly" have a solid Hickey Team with many key players and some great depth.
