I’m a big fan of Duclair esp after those close games vs the Stars. He could just hop on the plane back to the island after Thursday’s game.

We really should not be giving that much up given our position.
– Duclair = would be nice at the right price (no first round pick cost)
– Eberle = older but only 1 year and already knows the team. Also was not aware his numbers were that good (has he been good for them?). Still wouldn’t rush to get him
– Mangiapane = interesting but 3 more years at 5.8 million is not a good look.
– Scott Laughton = avoid. If anything he’s basically a cheaper Pageau but probably worse so no interest
– Hanifin, Chychrun = out of our price range and/or going elsewhere.
– Bjugstad, Zucker, Vatrano, Carrier = don’t move the needle so also avoid.

The one thing I like about Lou is he doesn’t give up assets for rentals. With dobson’s extension in the future you can’t really afford to bring in a big money d man unless your moving one. I wanted a 4th line center but maclean been solid. Duclear is the most interesting but whose spot does he take?

lol trading to get Eberle back after leaving him exposed and losing him for nothing in favor of the the 4th line goons would be so on brand for Lou

I see them only making 1 decently big move. Forward needs more help than Defense. So I’ll say go for Vatrano he can score and his contract is very resonable. This year and next @$3,650,000 Anaheim may have to retain some money. We have no cap space. Anthony Duclair is probably also an option. Stats aren’t sexy, but he could pick his game up playing on a better team with better players around him. He’s fast(god we need more speed) and he’s fairly cheap ($3million expiring this year).

I like Ebs, but no. That ship has sailed.
