Sens never felt the same to me since 2007 Stanley Cup Finals

Don’t worry. The Flyers didn’t do him any favors for his entire career. Amazing player and person. Always rooting for G.

I respect that he wanted to go home, but he should’ve returned to Philadelphia where he was wanted.

This is partially his fault—Ottawa is a mess. He knew that, signed there, wanted to be home, and it is what it is.
He had offers elsewhere.

This one makes me sad. Damn, r/NHL just cruel af.

The main problem with the Sens right now is that in 90% of their games, the other teams’ goaltender plays better than their goalie.
By advanced stats, and regular stats, the Sens have the NHL’s worst goaltending.
The main solution is to get a new starting goalie next year, and hope he’s at least average. Easier said than done, but it’s easier to change 1 player in 1 position than change 8-10 position players.
The reason the Sens were in the playoff race last year, and were as close as 1 point out in early March, is that Forsberg and Talbot were decent in net. Then they both got hurt, and lost 6 in a row with Sogaard in net who couldn’t stop a beach ball at the time.

Rumors had it that Colorado was interested in acquiring him at deadline, ’22. Giroux was insistent upon going to Florida though. Florida then got bounced by the team that went to the Cup Final…. and lost to Colorado.

Nah thats on him, wanted the bag and the home town with no discount

Should’ve stuck with the flyers

Sundin never won anything so it’s ok.

That thing was too heavy to be called a stick. Too big, too thick, too heavy, too rough, it was more like a large hunk of graphite.

Poor guy. Such an exciting, creative and skilled player. Damn near had both wrists snapped off by Crosby hacking him every face off in the playoffs. Now stuck in Ottawa. Respect to Giroux, he’s a warrior.

Send Claude your Boston for goodness sake

That’s his own fault honestly. He could have easily signed with a contender when he had the chance.

I’ll never forget the ‘Summer of Pierre” followed by the offseason of “Sens have the best top 6 in the league”.
What a time to be alive.

As a lifelong Flyers fan I regretfully inform you that his entire career has been wasted for the most part by completely incompetent management. I feel bad for him that he didn’t choose Colorado but I don’t feel bad about how great Tippett looks and how there’s an extra first rounder coming this off-season.

He turned down the opportunity to join the Avs during their cup run. Would only go to Florida and the rest is history.
