When he got torched for nine goals his last game in Montreal and let team president at the time, Ronald Corey, who was on the bench that he had played his last game in Montreal all while the coach who left him in, Mario Trembley was watching. Absolute gold.

Hmmm, could be one of the times he beat his wife. Maybe when his dad pulled him off the school hockey team and told the coach his teammates weren’t good enough for him. Maybe when he threw a tantrum and quit on the Habs because they hurt his save percentage one game? A lot of options.

2006, late night round of Trivial Pursuit where we got hammered by the sports questions all night long. I need just a correct sports answer to win and the card reads “Record holder for the most NHL wins by a goalie.”
I answer Patrick Roy, and the girl reading the card says “close but I’m sorry” and I interrupt with the spelling “R-O-Y” and she tosses the card at my face.
Good times. I’m not sure of the edition of the game. Either 2001 or 2002.

Proudly trying to show off a caught puck and accidentally throwing it in the neck. Honestly though there are so many, such a legend for so many reasons
Watching him obsessively try to score a goal his final seasons as a player here in Colorado. Taking advantage of the fact there was no rule about how much a goalie’s stick could be curved, having a special stick made that he’d go get when an opponent was about to pull the goalie.
It was just so him, yeah, you’re going to put an extra man on ice to shoot at me, but I don’t care, I’m focused on scoring because I know you can’t. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the quips big wins, and moments he gave us, but that was what made him human to me, wanting that damn goal so bad.

Years and years of being the best. Despite what people say he was the best. I always knew the Avs were a shoe in to win every game regardless of anything, and they won a great amount when he was goalie.

93 Stanley Cup run. No one else could have taken that roster to a championship.
