He wasn’t the best at any basic skill (maybe passing), but the way he saw the game unfold was truly special. What a player!

  2. mosedud

Who is he? I was frozen in ice in the 70s and just got thawed. Is he better than this Rempe kid I keep hearing about?

  3. anomalocaris_texmex

I dunno. Looks like the kind of guy to get outshone by Steve Yzerman in the playoffs.

  4. The pictures of Gretzky without equipment on from early in his career are hysterical. He looks like he’s 130 pounds. Amazing what he was able to accomplish in the rough and tumble NHL of the 80s and 90s.

  5. richardgiver

That’s not Bobby Orr in the pic

  6. hawkscubsbears

True statement, but fuck the blues

  7. Mandalore-44

    Yup….

    Brodeur
    Gretz

Do NOT forget Jacques Plante on your list of St Louis Blues all-time greats!!

  8. schmokeabutt

Fuck Mike Keenan for ruining this.

  9. mrb2409

Is there a good Gretzky documentary? He played before my time and I didn’t grow up in Canada so would love to go back and see more of his career. I know YouTube has stuff of course but would be nice to see a proper career storyline.

Lost respect with all his bet mgm gambling commercials…

  11. Greecelightninn

Smothers self in Maple syrup while singing Leonard Cohens Hallelujah

  12. TorturedFanClub

Ah yes The Great One, a famous St Louis Blue. Lol.

  13. FlashMan1981

My forever hot take is 99 gets one more Cup in STL with prime Hull and emerging Pronger and MacInnis and everyone else the Blues had

  14. IcedCoffeeHokage

Why is there a picture of this guy? Shouldn’t it be Kessel the Glizzy king?

  15. BehemothManiac

    Gretzky had it, lost it…

The only thing that comes to my mind when I see #99 in the Blues sweater.

  16. B0pp0-2nd-account

Nah. That would actually be Rod Brind’Amour

  17. Great_Cricket_4844

Good old Gretzky. A St Louis legend.

  18. Busy-Operation5489

Not even close… maybe of his shitty era when no one wanted to dive in front of a puck. Lmao

  19. Poopingisasignipoop

Hot take incoming….Wayne Gretzky was good. Prove me wrong.

  20. dontaskwonttell1

That doesn’t look like super Mario?

  21. torontowinsthecup

Too bad he played for STL in the cartoon era of the uniforms.

  22. LionBig1760

The greatest giveaway from the great one.

  23. SpringrolI

I don’t see sean avery in this pic?

  24. John_Brickermann

Was he actually on the blues??

  25. That was a great season with some great sweaters! Only Blues jersey I have lol

  26. Master_fart_delivery

That was the best blues jersey

  27. He has the most goals ever, and you could take all 894 of them away and he’s still the all-time NHL point leader. Yes, the Great One!

  28. Remarkable-Book-8758

His brother was far better obviously

  29. ZarginZarg

The caption should read the greatest one that ever played in a St Louis jersey
