Fischer had a great block.
Ghost was absolutely brutal tonight. Turnover machine. This team passes up on far too many quality shots to force a pass that has ~10% chance of making it through. Perron is too slow to play with Larkin and Raymond. I’d love him as a bottom six PP specialist. And a huge problem I see night after night is the inability to get the puck out of the defensive zone in key situations, it’s baffling and has led to a number of goals now.
With all that said, a couple wins and we’d have this still. Flyers and caps both have tough schedules as well. I’m not expecting it at this point, but It’s certainly still on the table.
And, what was up with Kane choking on his open shot?

This was the 2nd loss in what will become a 5 game losing streak if not more.
Team speed and physicality biggest issues, time to give some drafted players a shot. Transition player's like Fabbri, Perron, Debrincat were just that, Washington is not even considered a cup contender. Now I'm questioning how far this team is away from seriously contending; needing a backup to Lyon, Larkin looks tired/injured he's a #2 center on any of the the top 12 teams in this league.No Detroit player has enough speed to backup the opposing defense coming into offensive zone, Kane is a sniper but he's also 35 years old. Stevie Y has some hard choices this off season and the clock is ticking on a once proud franchise.

Yeah there done. This group of guys don't have it in them. No fight no urgency. They play 1 speed 1 tempo no matter what situation there in or how bad they need a win. Cruise mode is all they got. Never show grit or dig down deep and show balls. Just 1 speed every single game. I cannot believe these guys can't show some damn urgency with the position there in. Ghost was so bad tonight omg. He is not the addition I thought he was going to be. Poor Raymond. Poor larkin. Larkin and seider were responsible for that ot loss though. They just let that happen. The step that would have been nice to take would have be peek this; 6-8 more points then last year. They took a step last year, 6 more points than the previous year and games of meaning later in the season. This year they needed 94 points but a step would be 90. Will they make it? Can they make it? They can, but it just doesn't feel like they will. Meaningful games, late in the season, but falling short. So, have they made a step forward? Is this their peak as a team? The depth of veterans is coming to an end and they are losing ground. Not a good look. Goalies standing on their heads, are backups and forwards playing defense plus tough clearing of pucks out of zone have made scratching the head an all season problem with no answer in sight. 🏒

So disappointing to see Wings come up short in a must win game. What a season, how can we go from looking like we’re playoff ready to being adrift without a paddle in the space of a month or so. I’m so tired of the same old teams making the playoffs a lock every year. We don’t have lottery luck or the luxury of superstar players to dig us out of a hole so it’s imperative we use what depth we have to raise the compete level. Dump the dead wood, sign up some guys that want to win and make some bold decisions next season. Yzerman shouldn’t be fired by any stretch but it’s time to start earning your pay check

You guy's are being to nice about the wing's this team is cooked…we just lost to not a very good team in Washington…if your a playoff caliber team you just don't lose to lesser teams at this time of the year when you're fighting for a playoff spot…this team is lacking in every aspect of their game.offence, defense,and goaltending and it shows losing to supposed to be lesser teams… with the 4 next opponents being Carolina, Florida,and Tampa Bay…your about to enter a another 5 game losing streak most likely ending your playoff hopes for thee 5th straight year under yzerman..it's time to stop giving yzerman a free pass…I've seen basement dweller's turn it around in one year and at least get in to the playoffs
