The Caps don’t have that killer desperation to play better and sacrifice and win every puck battle. Zero urgency and zero accountability. It starts at the top. The honeymoon is over. Washington is in this position because they started the season 1-3-1 and then all the winnable games they just gave up on or only managed 1 point when they could have had 2.
They don’t even have the guts to recognize the gut check moment and have the players meeting that should have happened games ago.
Pens fans are probably elated they bumped us out of the playoff spot. Little did they know they just saved us from embarrassment in the playoffs.
