  1. I think this is a great thing for the NHL. I'm sorry for the fans of the Coyotes, but the reality is the team never took hold there. The fan base wasn't large, the franchise had no real success, it was just a failure all the way through. SLC, Utah is a far better place for them that already has a hockey culture in place.

  2. 1996-2024. It was a wild journey, but it's off to greener pastures. We'll miss ya, 'Zona. For you yotes fans, here, have a hug 🤗 You don't deserve this, really.

  3. It's such a shame that after 10+ years of a pretty crappy team, the coyotes finally have a promising rebuild and have a chance of getting a new arena, and it all falls flat

  4. Just when it looked like they were turning it around. Sad knowing that they still had so much left to build around

  5. My dream has always been to see an nhl game and go for a few non alcoholic drinks after the game…not.

  6. I feel so bad for yotes fans, ownership completely screwed this up, I hope Arizona gets another team eventually, hockey belongs in the desert

  7. Current Arizona ownership sells for $1.2 billion and keep the name. The team moves to SLC and starts over as a "new" franchise. The now former owners use the 1.2 billion to build a sweet rink and restart operation in 3 to 5 years. Utah has a team and Arizona has a team. If billionaire egos don't get in the way everyone wins.

  8. Coyotes are one of my ride or die teams and to lose them is heartbreaking.

Edit: Coyotes won in ot against Oilers at least so a little victory

  9. My frank view is this was inevitable. Bettmens obsession with hockey in the desert meant there’d be teams not able to survive. The reality is Canadian teams get fucked over time and time again for shaky markets and everyone acts shocked when those markets fail. The Yotes were playing in a college arena. How are people shocked it got worse?

  10. Lifelong Yotes fan and AZ native here, which team should I bandwagon? I sure as hell ain’t rooting for Utah 😂

  11. It's been a long time coming. Arizona has grown a hockey following, but the Coyotes have not worked. There's been terrible ownership/management for a long time and frankly with how many chances they have been given, teams have moved for less. I'm sort of thankful the saga is over, but I still think of the fans of the team and those who will lose their jobs now. I Want hockey to work everywhere, but sadly this hasn't worked out. I just hope that in Utah things go decent.

  12. I blame ownership. I hope to see the Coyotes back as an expansion team in the future in a new arena with a new owner.
