I'd rather get Vegas because if we got Dallas, I'm worried Jamie Benn would do something dirty and take out one of our guys for the rest of the playoffs
I'll say I'd rather see dallas. As to me they seem like a similar team being more offensively minded. But I think the avs have a bit more offensive prowess. Kind of want to say defense is roughly even between them right now, but I'll say dallas has the edge in goal tending imo. But then again that didn't mean much against winnipeg so I could be wrong.
And then for the Norris I see no reason why hughes shouldn't win it as hes played well and hasn't won one yet and makar has one won so big deal. Really my only possible issue if hughes wins are the Vancouver fans who have already/will suddenly decide hughes has ALWAYS been better then makar. Because i just dont see it.
Like there's a reason why makar is one of the NHL's Golden boys.
I think we match up better against Dallas cause we are similar teams but I think the Avs do it better. Goaltending would be the question mark in my mind. VGK fans are insufferable though so I wouldn’t mind the opportunity for the Avs to make them cry though
I'd say dallas over vegas because of the history between the two franchises. Avs played vegas once so far and this is also a beginning of a new rivalry. Either way its gonna be entertaining
My hockey watching origins start around the time Mike Modano was feathering his hair before hitting the ice and had his jerseys modified with thinner fabric on the back so it would ruffle more when skating…I hated that guy and want to beat Dallas in the most meaningful ways possible at all times. It's as strong as Red Wing or Canuck animosity for me.
I'm going pure Pretty Hate Machine on this one. Give me Vegas and the stupid drummers and dancers and flashy lights… oh ya and home ice for my Hommies.
I’m a stars fan, curious to what you guys were feeling. I had hoped the AVS continued their game 1 perceived struggles. But they came back very strong. We were gonna have to beat you sometime, I think it depends on otter. We can score with you, and defend. (Hopefully with 6 d men) it’s all up to the goalies.
Personally, I like the away ice starting game.. I think the Avs need to get angry first
I have to say Dallas. Vegas are the defending champs for a reason and have a very experienced team. I dont care if we play weaker teams all the way to winning another cup. Its the playoffs so any team still playing is not a weaker team in my opinion. I would love to see the Avs destroy Dallas and then sweep Edmonton again in the WCF before beating either Florida or NYR in the SCF! 2 Cup wins in 3 years would be amazing. They are just as good if not better than the 2022 team. They just have to stick to their game and they will be very difficult to beat 4 times. GO AVS!! Get Parise a Cup before he retires!
Another issue if we get Dallas, we’re going to have to deal with the glass banger fan from Dallas
Question for either of you. And I know there could possibly be recency bias but also hindsight knowing we won the cup in 2022, but at this moment if the Avs are able to continue to play the way they are for the rest of the playoffs (let’s say drouin doesn’t come back at all and no landy at all), how do you compare the two teams? Which one is deeper? Do you think this Avs teams has a better chance than back in 2022 at this point in the playoffs?
Dallas just cause I wanna enjoy VGK getting bounced in the 1st after their shenanigans
I’m just enjoying the moose and choo choo show
Vegas gives us home ice. Dallas has home ice. We're the best in the league at home. Both Vegas and Dallas have knocked us out before. Vegas is defending but I think Dallas is better. I want to see my team run through the better team without home ice and make an even more strong statement than smoking Bucky
I don't get the point of taking a shot at Hellebuyck. We all saw what happened in the first round, and there's no reason to be a poor winner.
As for who I'd rather see us face… I'd rather Vegas just because I'd like to see the Avs knock them out, but neither team will be an easy series. On that note, I don't think you can really say playing the teams with worse records would diminish anything. You say playing Nashville wouldn't mean as much, but to play them that would mean that they took out Vancouver and Edmonton to get there and 100% deserve to be where they are at. Did it diminish the cup two years ago when we completely outclassed Edmonton and swept them? Nonsense take.
Personally, I'm just rooting for a 3OT Game 7
What about this road:
R1. Hellebuyck
R2. Oettinger
R3. Demko
SC. Shesterkin
It be Georgiev ultimate matchups
I feel Dallas would be the team to play , they out played the in reg season . They struggle against Vegas , having said that the AVS look like a team that can beat anyone😈 providing u know who stays hot . BYW love that Hat Kyle !
I care less about “who” the Avs play and more about “how” they play. If they keep up that round one pace, I like their chances against anyone. I mean, both Dal and VGK are both experienced playoff teams and tough outs and having a preference feels like a setup. A team ready to win the cup respects every opponent but fears nobody. I’d suspect the staff is game planning for both teams now with the extra time off and will be ready for either and will be all about execution.
I’d much rather play Vegas. #1 I just think the stars are a much better team than Vegas (I don’t care what our record was vs Dallas in the regular season, the Winnipeg series just proved why that doesn’t matter) #2 for all the understandable fuss about mark stone, he has 2 goals and is a minus 3 and looks like he’s playing hurt and overall I don’t think Vegas has the forward depth to compete with the Avs like the stars do, #3 I want revenge for blowing a 2-0 series lead in 2021 and knocking Vegas out would make me giddy
All you need to do is look at the players poll when it comes to who is the best defenseman. Two years in a row, it's a landslide for Makar. What your peers think is the most important consideration.
The NHL exists to provide the Avalanche with 31 other teams to beat.
Each fan of each team should think of their own team the same way.
Bring on whomever. NEXT!
"Are you not entertained?"
Yes, coach, WE ARE.
Vegas – home ice advantage! Dallas will be very, very, very difficult! I like Matt Duchene, at least one open born-again Christian!
I watched this last night, it was my last listen of the day.
Avs aren't beating either team. The Jets are a bunch of headcases.
You're looking at this all wrong. Which team would you rather be beat by?
This is the NHL playoffs, guy, there is no easy pathway.
For me, i just want to see vegas lose. Dont care who. Dallas on the other hand, i would like to see the avalanche beat them. All the talk this year has been about how great dallas is, and how shallow colorado is, so would be great to start the golf season for the stars. If the avs play like they did vs the jets it doesnt matter who they play
Vegas is throwing im sure
It's Dallas 1000%. Vegas can choke on it with their cap circumvention tactics. They deserve to get served up at home tonight and not go another step further in the playoffs this year. Matter of fact, I hope they go up 3 goals early and then slowly choke it away the rest of the game so it's extra painful. We can hate Dallas as a rival, but at least they're on the up and up and not trying to loophole their way to a championship. We wanted Seattle last year and that didn't pan out so well, so forget preference. It's all about fair play going forward for me.
Let’s not forget how Colorado matched up against the Jets during the regular season, look how that series played out. I’m feeling confident against either. Hell give us both! 🤣
if the stars and vegas go 7, then game 7 would be sunday and 2nd round starts monday lol so tuesday for us ,so whoever we get they get one day rest and if its vegas then they are flying to colorado and into the altitude
