Voudriez-vous que Marner soit dans la nature ? Qu’est ce que tu voudrais abandonner?

We’re just about to get out of cap hell and bring in the new kids, I see no reason to add Marner on an 8 figure contract

  2. JustaRoosterJunkie

Don’t want his contract, and we don’t need any help with players that are absent in the playoffs.

If Toronto retains about $10mil, maybe.

  3. IngloriousJake

I’d rather jump off the Empire State Building than have marner’s contract and lose the players you’d have to give up to acquire him

  4. fastal_12147

I want whatever this guy is smoking

  5. shakotanbougie

Couldn’t afford him and wouldn’t want him because he doesn’t fit.

  6. Sometimes_Stutters

A first round exist specialist? He’d fit right in on this team!

  7. Finnwood92

No. We need playoff performers and not trading prospects. Unless we can get him for mojo freddie hockey, gus and zuccy, nyet.

  8. Proper_Warhawk

Horrible idea. He doesn’t play the way that GMBG has designed the team to play, he would block upcoming prospects, we can’t afford him, and the last thing that we need is a regular season point machine but has no dawg in him for the play offs start.

  9. deadphisherman

We don’t have room on the team bus for his ego.

  10. Small_Front_3048

He’s not worth it, like he didn’t even try on that last OT goal

Ik there’s no moves involved but this is the general idea:

    Zucc + Foligno + Heidt = Marner

6M out, 6M in previous cap space, Marner in.

Add a pick but preferably not a 1. Add to the top 6 year after next in FA.

No Ohgren, no Yurov, no Wallestedt, no Boldy, no Faber, no Heidt, no Rossi. Obv Kaprizov isn’t negotiable.

  12. throwitawaynow95762

His playmaking would pair well on a line with Kaprizov, but it really makes no sense other than that. He’s kind of a bitch, makes too much money, and doesn’t play center.

  13. Fit_Aardvark_8811

Can’t afford him. People forget the cap exists

  14. CitizenStrife

You know, or we could run with what we have, save money, and give that money to someone else deserving if they do well enough. Faber’s getting a huge chunk, Rossi (should) get some, and maybe Yurov ends up good enough we answer all those top line questions.

So, nah. Toronto has done nothing but prove spending all the money on forward scoring is getting them nowhere fast. Makes the Wild look less of a laughing stock.

  15. 1trugodnicCage295

Absolutely not. I would give up nothing to get him. Too expensive to be as soft as he is.

  16. PortugueseWalrus

If they could get him for like half of his current cap number, sure. But at full price, no way. I love me some Mitch Marner, but there are cheaper ways to fill the hole that the Wild have up front right now.

  17. PaxDragoon

No. The guy famous for wilting under pressure? Hard pass.

  18. Jabba_the_Putt

    Nope, not at all.

Watching him in the Leafs playoff series he was terrible. Super low effort, no compete, coasting all over the place. Please stay far away

  19. Figure8musky53

He may very well be over hated in Toronto. But we are not blind either. I have played hockey for 40 years and coached for 20. Im telling you I would not want him on my team. For half that cost maybe. But he is too small and not physical. Not a good recipe for playoffs. He is skilled no doubt. But give me a guy with less skill and more grit and tenacity any day

  20. pillbuggery

No. He’s good, but overrated and not worth it.

  21. Cave_People

Contract aside, we need killers. Marner is proven to not have it in him.
