Rempe has the problem with ONE penalty… meanwhile Troubs gave us THREE! The Rangers can't afford Rempe but how many penalties has Trouba given this postseason? I've lost track. Other than his lone goal, he's been completely unproductive as well and has become a MUCH bigger liability anytime he steps onto the ice than Rempe is. At least Remps brings the juice, has MULTIPLE screens on goals (including 1 last night) and whenever he is on the ice the opposing team takes immediate notice, they dish the puck as quickly as possible because they know a train is coming which can easily turn into mistakes/turnovers for the opposing team (in this case Florida). I've always been a big Trouba fan, but if anybody needs less ice time right now it's definitely Trouba… not Remps.

At live speed I thought Rempe got rode into the wall and he came out on the better end of it. But slowing it down and rewatching it. I can see why it would be a roughing. But like you said he’s massive compared to other players. And I don’t think Pete should take him out of lineup when you have people taking softer penalties and scoring own goals

Hey Bedsauce, you should know by now that criticizing Matt Rempe to a Rangers fan is like criticizing Joe Biden to a liberal. They'll never agree with you, and they'll defend every single thing he does no matter how bad it is.
As a rangers fan Rempe isn’t the problem Trouba is. Trouba is supposed to represent our hockey club and consistently makes defensive mistakes, throws cheap elbows, and gets penalized. I get why Rempe gets the attention but they need to discipline Trouba to beat Florida
Rempe's penalty wasn't as much of a problem on the surrendered PP goal as the garbage defense played on the play that scored. Was true on both Cat PP goals. Miller was awful yesterday, but rest assured, he had a LOT of company. How the Rangers won is a miracle – as Dave Maloney said after the Wenberg goal, "Calls the cops, there's been a robbery!" (And there is no bigger homer than Dave.)
And I agree with the other commenters here; Rempe doesn't so much have a problem as you have a Rempe problem.

He also served as a screen on the first Goodrow goal. He does a lot of small things well too ie puck battles, gritty board work, being physical, stick checks with that long reach, getting in front and causing havoc etc.
Big guys like Rempe are always going to be on the edge of a penalty, not much you can do. The refs don't help either. He needs to be aware, but be out there to keep doing what he's doing, which is helping the team in multiple ways. He's just tough to play against, period.

Sadly the big problem now is K'Andre. So soft. Easy (well easier) win if he just plays some standard defense. As far as Rempe watch the Panthers when he's on ice…they get rid of it fast. Perfect forechecking 4th liner. He's getting reputation penalties right now.
Rangers are 22-3-1 with Rempe in the line-up . Enough said.

Pure crap. You wouldnt know hockey if it kissed your butt. Rempe actually played well. He was instrumental on the Goodrow goal. He didnt play in the third and would have been better than most of the other players who did. As for overtime, if the game went deep he would’ve played. Rangers have bigger problems than Rempe taking one penalty when their captain Trouba took four. Get a life.

Rempe might have cost them a goal, but he was also a big part of a goal. He was screening the goalie, and if he had not been, who knows how the game would have turned out.

Their win/loss record with him IN the lineup suggests he provides something positive more than negative
Can you show this Rempe penalty clip with an earlier starting point? Reinhardt clearly interfered with Rempe who was trying to check the player with the puck. It should have been a 2 and 2 penalty. 2 for interference for Reinhardt, 2 for Roughing for Rempe.
Rempe has taken 1 penalty in this series. He brought tons of energy to game 2 and was far more noticeable than Kakko (who he replaced) was in Game 1. He screened the goalie one of Goodrow's goals in game 3 and finishes his checks every time. I'll take 1 penalty every 2 games if it means bringing constant energy grinding down the Panthers with his body and screening Bob. Trouba has more issues with penalties this post season.
