The thesis of this article is that McDavid is better than Gretzky.

I don’t care for the tone of it, but it’s not really saying anything too crazy. If the writer’s contention is that McDavid > Gretzky, it doesn’t feel like it goes all the way with it, just saying McDavid is more talented, which is just objectively true. Kucherov, MacKinnon, etc., are more talented than Gretzky as well but it’s just kind of a silly and useless point to make. Gretzky easily had the best career.
There is more to hockey than stats. McDingleberry is NOT the greatest hockey player in the world. He is a good player, NOT the greatest. The only cup he deserves is the kind that goes in his jock strap.

With any amazing player they have their fair share of detractors and people saying they are over rated. Saw it with Crosby during the heights of his career.
