I’m at a point where I am totally at peace with whoever they pick, be it Yakemchuk, Parekh, Buium, Tij or someone else entirely. I’ll throw the full weight of my fandom behind our player, supremely confident that we got the right one — obviously.

It really seems like the draft is wide open after pick 2/3. At this point I’m just going to hope the Sens choose the best player available and then in a few years I’ll pretend I knew the pick was going to be a hit/miss all along.

Ottawa needs more chuk.

I’m really set on Parekh, for some reason. If he doesn’t make it to us, I’d also love Tij.
I’m sure they’re all good, maybe even great, but those two I have the best feeling about.

personally i’m hoping all of these guys are as good as advertised. and of course that we get the best one

I’m kinda cool with anyone, we need so many things that any of these guys would prove to be useful. Yakemchuk sounds the best to me cause I like the idea of having a big and mean guy back there that’s also dependable and can pitch in offensively, and would be another ‘chuk’ for the collection haha. I dunno if he’s LD or RD though. Parekh would be rad if he hit his potential

Fuck it I’ll jump on the parekh train he could be bpa at the time and fix our Rhd shortage

Would making a trade with Calgary make sense, we swap 7 & 9 and they add some additional assets which Sens could use for other deals or add more prospects to our depleted prospect pool. I wouldn’t do it if certain players “fell” to 7 but with the options in that 6-10 range I would consider it depending on the return. This would be buying into the narrative they want Iginla which who knows if they do or if he is even there at 7. Excited to see how it plays out.

Yeah take whoever at this point. Were getting a stud no matter what

As long as we don’t go off the fucking board man.

Very interesting read thank you for this

Man if Silayev makes it to #7 they should be all over that. He can play both the left side and right side. He’s played the right side all year in the KHL etc. Dude would be so disgusting beside Chabot or Sanderson.

Parekh would be a gamble, but one I would be willing to take. His upside is absolutely absurd.
The fit isn’t perfect, but I think Sanderson is good enough defensively to pair with him.
Yakemchuk isn’t a gamble I want to take. He’s similar to Parekh in that he is a defensive liability. I think scouts are banking on him developing defensively because he is 6″3, but he has the worst hockey IQ out of all the players listed above.
Personally, I think Biuim or Silayev will be the best defenceman from this draft. I think Levshunov has the highest floor. Parekh definitely has the highest ceiling.

Take a winger that will develop chemistry with Tim Stutzle or a defenseman that will pair well with Sanderson. Just don’t draft another Tyler Boucher (a player rated to go in the 2nd round)

Wow, high praise all around. If all or most of these guys pan out this could look like a repeat of the 2008 draft which saw EK, Doughty, Josi, and Carlson in terms of defense all in one draft.
Good year to own a high pick, that’s for sure
BartleBossy
Honestly, there are just so many options, and each represent their own upside and risk.
I think personally, my ranking of the Defensemen is probably:
I am all for Parekh, I have a feeling we will be drafting Iginla though. I think the team is gonna pull a draft day deal and send Chych and Brannstrom out for a RHD and a later pick 3rd-5th round.
