It does make a lot of sense for the Sharks to keep Couture around. This will be one of the youngest teams in the NHL going into 2024-25. If Couture is on the roster, he's a player that can help your younger guys on the ice. If he's not on the roster, he's a LTIR stash (Not to sound insensitive). He's a free agent at the end of 2027. If he can come back in a way he's like an addition because this Sharks team has holes in it and is pretty young.
My guess of what the Sharks forward lines could look like with no UFAs re-signed, no Couture and no UFAs added:
Eklund – Celebrini – Zetterlund
Graf – Granlund – Kostin
Bordeleau – W. Smith – Gushchin
G. Smith – Kunin – Studinika
That's an ugly forward group.

I appreciate everything couture has done. But he ain’t gonna benefit this team anymore. And quite frankly his career is done. So for me, if you can get rid of him
