Tired of the McDavid talk. Every commenter gushing over him is ridiculous
McDavid is putting on a hell of a show. I think it would be great if he broke Gretzky's playoff points record. I'm a Lemieux fan, and forever will be. But I think we have to give credit to the best players of today as well. And no one was supposed to break Gretzky's records. It's exciting to watch. I believe Lemiuex would have broken them if he were healthy. It's a shame he doesn't hold more records.
In the era of Mario and Gretzky, a different kind of hockey was played. Much slower, more like one or two player hockey. Kurri give pass to Gretzky and Gretzky made scores or vice versa. Today hockey is more team game.
Mcdavid is good but id still take Sid and Mario in their prime
I agree about Geno. It's not nearly as consistent as Mario but he is the closest ive seen with that gallop
I think there should be a new Mount Rushmore of hockey. I don't think it's fair to compare hockey from 30-40 years ago to today. The Mount Rushmore of 99, 66, 4, and 9 should be immortalized. But a post 05 Mount Rushmore has 87, 8, and 97 on it. They are waiting for their 4th. I would say for now 71 or 88 would have that spot. Malkin or Kane. But 87, 97, and 8 are top 3.

This has always been such a silly conversation for me. People just straight up ignore history to prop up their heroes.

Comparing McDavid to Mario or Sid isnt nearly as bad as when people compare Ovetchkin to Sid..now that is REALLY bad! Could those 2 be more different?

I told you guys this wasn't going to be a Florida sweep, or anything of the kind. The NHL wasn't going to allow it's face of the game get run out of the building. Not saying anything is "fixed", just saying this was going to be a 6-7 game series no matter what and right now Florida has to be gripping their sticks extra tight. If it goes to 7, I like the Oilers.

How do you feel with Markstrom joining the Devils? I find if more and difficult to realistically see the Pens in the WC race next year if we don’t have top three goaltending in the metro. Glad to have you back!
Let em know DK. I snapped into sentience just in time to see Mario before his first retirement. When he wound it up behind the net and started up the runway it looked and felt like everyone else on the ice slowed down and got smaller.
