I mean. Fighting isn't legal. It's still penalized. It just is more tolerated than other sports.
I was there like 10 rows behind the Flyers net. Great birthday gift.
I wouldn't classify 2 Stanley Cup Wins as "Several" but this game was definitely a bruhaha to watch.
It's pronounced "Tee-mander", "Zham-nov" "La-Leem" "Rad-i-voy-ovich"
I googled this like two months ago because me and my friends were trying to break the record
Was at that Bruins v North Stars game in 1981 for my 13th bday
fighting isn't actually "legal" because players get penalized. Anything that you get penalized for is "illegal".
A shit job by the referees
419 PIM broke the prior record of 344 in February 1990, between the Oilers at Kings.
This was my first Flyers game I ever went to. What a experience that was.
I looked this game up months ago and didn't realize Zdeno Chara was involved in this game. To think, all these years later, he'd still be losing to the Flyers.
meh the anti fighting stuff is all a part of the the league’s desire go mainstream and to placate people who don’t watch hockey anyhow. when you’re at the game and there’s a fight EVERYONE cheers (until your guy loses lol).
Those Flyers beat the leafs in the playoffs that year…. Still kinda bitter about it.
HORSESHIT evaluation and video wtf, did you record the video with your 1999 cell phone and further edited? terrible accent as well lmfao
I’m a hockey fan for life. But I can laugh at the fact that, at anytime, the game can just be stopped because two guys want to actually fist fight. And it’s allowed. And sometimes everyone fights at the same time. It’s so ridiculous when you really think about it but I love it
I got to see a brawl live between the Flyers AHL affiliate Phantoms against their arch rivals the Hershey Bears. This was during the 1997 AHL Playoffs. There is a video of it on Youtube. The highlight of that brawl was the fight between Phantoms goalie Neil Little and Bears goalie Sinuhe Walinheimo. Little beat the bag off of him. To say I lost my mind would be an understatement. I'm still hoarse 25 years later.
"Come on down, we've got places for the home games. Bring the kids! We've got entertainment for the whole family"
Two Stanley Cups is not "several". This is a favorite to watch from time to time: Old-Time Hockey.
They're all wearing rainbow jerseys now. Except for that Russian guy. Or so I've heard.
419 PIM? That's almost a season's worth from Dave Schultz.
The referees must’ve been so frustrated xD
