  1. Looking forward to this upcoming season. Looking forward to smacking Boston, Toronto, Tampa etc on the chin multiple times next season.

  2. I tend to agree.. Adams does draft well, but they are all skilled guys. Other teams get physical guys in later rounds but we still seem to find quality skilled players there to. That's good in a way, but we need the balance too. Adams is still learning and there are things in the last year that he's been guilty of that he's showing that he's learned.. 1 the need for physical players and 2. We are loaded with skilled forwards in our prospect pool that we will never have room for all of them.. and 3. His achilles heel up until this year… he's gotten to attached to some of the players.. laster years UFA resigns showed that.. Okposo should have been left to walk last year… His move of Middlestadt mid-season(great trade) all he talked about was that Casey being a good friend… GM's can't get tied up in being a Friend or having favorites.. got back to watching the movie Little Big League… the kid owned the team and as was pointed out to him… you can't afford to be a fan when in management… Kevin has been guilty of being friends with the commodities of his sport. He's breaking that and the moves of Casey, Kyle and now Matt show he's finally broken that. the only problem now is… I can't wait for the season to start (in part because our temps until about opening day will be in the triple digits… gotta love Phoenix) to see this team he's put together and added back in Lindy…

  3. I agree wholeheartedly Wayne. Although I like many wished for a blockbuster move after the draft, I have faith in the moves we HAVE made and am super sick of the negative vibes coming from our "fellow fans"

  4. Savoie is much like Benson, not huge but plays bigger than his physical stature. He will do well in oil town, good luck to him. But they are all assets, about time Adams dealt a prospect, I have said for a while that the longer these guys languish in Rochester they lose their value as an asset.

  5. Savoie reminds me of the next Tyler Ennis. Small, fast and skilled but his lack of size never allowed him to be any better than a middle-six forward. He had a very nice career overall, but he wasn't a star by any stretch of the imagination. I see the same future as a best-case scenario for Savoie.

  6. Took all the words right out of my mouth! Thank God you have this channel Wayne. Someone amongst Sabres fans needs to be saying all of this and I can’t stand being on camera lol. Our fans need to reflect on how we can become better fans. Watching your videos is a great start.

  7. Darcy would have got better value. Trade needed to be made, absolutely, but Savoie is a hell of a hockey player. The entire league is laughing at us for giving up a Top 10 pick, a future stud, for a 3rd liner. It's as bad as any Tim Murray trade imo.

  8. IMO Edmonton screwed themselves by resigning the old guys , Henrique & Perry and letting Fogele and Macleod leave. Their loss is our gain😊
Adams needed a third line centre who is fast ,can kill penalties and is good on faceoffs and Macleod perfectly fits that bill! I love how Adams has rebuilt the Sabres bottom 6 this summer , as well as the addition of Calgary D man Dennis Gilbert who also brings some grit & toughness! The bottom 6 forward group is now FAST& TOUGH instead of SLOW & SOFT! And yes I definitely think the Sabres will easily make the playoffs next spring. Thanks for the video Wayne, hope your back feels better soon .

  9. Vernon is just trying hard to cope with trading Savoie, he's worried he'll be good. I'm still happy because we need to win now, and only so many roster spots for prospects to earn.

  10. Just odd that addams changed his philosophy so much. He wanted the no defense and no hitting team that just out scores everyone. Now he was a hitting team that is hard to play against. Dont get me wrong id rather be tough and hit but just odd he changed so fast.

  11. It’s really sad just looking at what the doughy has done to these so called “fans” of the Sabres.

  12. We traded potential offense for guaranteed defense. McCleod is an elite defensive forward. We already have a guy similar to Savoie on the team. Benson is a similar skillset. He outplayed Savoie when they played together in juniors and Benson is a more physical player. I'm really liking the way this roster is shaping up. Coming out of the lockout the Sabres were projected to be a bottom feeder team. We saw what Lindy did then. I don't think this team is built too different from that team.

  13. Savoie got what, 5 points in his first 6 AHL games? Not sure we can call the AHLers little children. Not sure why people are now turning to badmouthing Savoie to try and make people feel better lol. That's just as bad as complaining about dumb stuff.
We aren't talking about Gerbe here. I think Savoie is actually a little bigger than Danny B.

  14. You are bang on. We got him because he addresses several things Adams mentioned on the last seasons exit interviews. He wanted defensive minded players, this guy is that in spades. He has the speed to make the defense slip up on offence and his speed is what got him the 97% defensive prowess. I'm sure Ruff had input in all the signings/trades.

  15. I have no problem trading prosects. My issue is that the Sabres always lose in their trades. If they do win a trade which is rare, the player wants out almost immediately.

  16. A “what if” lineup… Think of the Centers ahead of McLeod, in Edmonton. Yet he still got 15 a night. Do we know how good he really is? What his ceiling really is?

    Peterka – McLeod – Thompson
    Quinn – Cozens – Tuch
    Zucker – Benson – Greenway
    Malenstyn – Lafferty – Aube-Kubel

    Byram – Dahlin
    Power – Jokijarju
    Samuelsson – Clifton

    UPL
    Levi

  17. Just remember that the 2006-2007 team that went on to win the Presidents Trophy was coached by Ruff and was built on Speed and toughness.

Not saying this team will do more than make the playoffs and make some noise, but I and seeing a lot of similarities now that some of these players have been brought it.

If UPL and Levi can combine for what Miller did that year, we should be in great shape.

  18. Im all for a more physical team and tough to play against and all that. If our big guns dont show up for 75% or more of the season, it'll be 14 yrs of no playoffs. The Atlantic division is still too good to just coast into the post-season playing .500 hockey……….AND a big part of that is WINNING HOME GAMES!!!!! 👍👍

  19. Yea down the one side all our players are like 5ft 11 ish. And all of our winger/centers in the ahl are just about all 5ft10/5ft11

  20. Hate to rain on everyone’s parade, but Edmonton fans and most neutrals are scratching their heads at this trade. I think we are valuing McLeod WAY more than anyone else.
Let us also mention that the player Adams traded a second for immediately filed gor salary arbitration. You think that might have come up in the trade negotiations, “Oh, by the way, he is looking for X$, which we will not pay so good luck with that. Thanks for the Second.”

  21. The Sabre's, or rather Adams, time is ticking away. After 5 years at the helm and no playoffs, I would think everyone on the team and in the pipeline is expendable, save for a couple of guys.

  22. I don't mind trading players like Savoie to get an edge. However, trading Middelstadt, and buying out Skinner without replacing a top 6 forward is nuts. Hopefully Coach Ruff can turn this around.

  23. #48 ,Sabre or Flyer what a player that would stink if Savoie equalled his talent ,but il take this team we have to keep Upl Adams knows how to pick players he's no dummie😊

  24. McLeod had 27 hits in 24 playoff games this year, Buffalo forwards didn’t have 27 hits on the season of 82 games lol. Mittelstadt had 11 hits, Skinner 20 something all season.

  25. McLeod makes 2.1 million, if he doesn’t work out who cares, we can just call up Rosen, Kulich or someone else. Guys act like we just traded for a guy with 8-10 mill cap hit. The GM took a chance on McLeod who just played in finals and had 3 goals in 7 games, Matthews and Marner can’t even get 3 goals in a playoff year lol

  26. Savoie disappointed me in the Memorial Cup – did nothing of importance. I have no problem at all with this deal – wait 3+ years for Savoie to grow up? No, no time for that.

  27. Savoie is a top prospect indeed, but still not a Sabres regular liner.

I dont think we should keep banking on prospect to much longer. We need to make some moves that improve our roster matching our strategy and game plan right now on this moment!

We still have some good prospects and talents in our pool but i feel its time to step up now with more experience, toughness and overall balance between our lines.

Still i would love to see him stay as a full Sabre and skate a full season with us.

    Thanx for the video Wayne!
    A pleasure as always 🙂

Keep up the great work and lots of happiness, health and luck with the upcoming powerforward!

    Congrats!
