Someone with a substance problem going to Montreal?
What could possibly go wrong?
Dach and newhook. Perfect line mates. Leave that top line alone.
Laine is at least geographically closer to Winnipeg 🙁
leafs aint making playoffs this year watch!!
I think the most valuable member of the Canadiens organization right now might just be Kent Hughes
It took forever for Hughes to do something in this off-season, but the wait is well worth it.
Yes ! It’s a good thing !
So sick of this bum
NOBODY has a resurgence from their prime when going to a new team.. Whiny-boy Laine willztruggle to get 30 goals a season for tge rest of his whiny-boy career…BUT he will ALWAYS blame it on the team and NEVER himself… after all, his mother told him that he was "perfect"
YES WE WANT MORE HABS CONTENT PLS
People might forget that Matthews went #1 and Laine #2 and were long compared for who was better until Matthews solifiied his spot. Now, they're representing their teams in one of the most historic rivalries in the sport of hockey: Leafs vs. Habs. It'll be really wild when the Habs are competitive, so long as he sticks around.
And his contract is only 2 more years so it's a good risk to take.
LMFAO so Johnny Hockey left Calgary for LESS MONEY to go to Columbus and play for years and years with Patrick Laine so he could be closer to his home of New Jersey, which is why he didn’t sign with the New Jersey Devils, and then after 2 short years of them both failing to put up the good numbers everyone expected, now Laine’s leaving…..
Make it make sense 🤷🏻♂️
It doesn’t make any fцcкiпg sense
I’m praying that he gets as healthy as his attitude!
Before this news hit, I was in a thrift store. I saw a Laine Jets jersey, with the front crest removed. I thought that was odd, but not as odd as this trade 😂
I'm a die hard leafs fan but I'd like to see more hab content from ya. You get straight to the point and no nonsense. I'm always looking for inside info on our rivals so this is good 😅
hahahahahahahahahah !!!!!!!!!
Good luck!
So stoke
Bring on 2024/25 season and make a push.
Go Habs Go
@1:27 did you forget about Josh wawa? Lots of depth in that lineup.
He is only 26? Suzuki, Slav and Caulfield on one and Laine, Dach and Anderson ( yes Anderson) all healthy coming at you on the PP. how ever the lines get mixed THE FUTURE IS SO SO SO BRIGHT!!!!! GO HABS GO!!!!!!!
It's an interesting move. But I don't think it's nearly that big a deal.
When he's healthy and in the right mental state you can bank on 30+. But you can't bank on either of those things. If he hasn't been healthy since 2019 you can't presume he'll be healthy now. Gotta hope for the best for the guy. But hoping for rookie Laine is a stretch. That guy hasn't been seen in a long time. It's a good risk and reclamation project for Montreal. They aren't competing anytime soon and can burn the cap space on a gamble. It's a good move for Montreal even if it doesn't work out.
More habs content. This is a fast rising franchise
Boo Laine not in tough slot areas
Habs content is always well recieved .
Hopefully playing for a legendary franchise reinvigorates him to actually try.
Canadiens have acquired the highest paid player on the roster now. If Laine's the best player this year, then Hughes is a genius, but if he shits the bed I can see resentment developing with a core of players who were buying into signing for a little less money because they were building something special in Montreal and were in it to win Cups long term then, all of a sudden here comes this guy, who was overpaid to begin with, and nobody knows what chemistry he'll have with a team developing tremendous chemistry. It does open up a spot on a crowded blue line and gives them another pick going forward. If he has a good year then ok, but at this point it looks more harm than good potentially.
Weird to think all the players from the Laine/PLD trade moved on
Even if he gives 25-30 goals it will be a big plus! Happy with him specially with what it cost! And to top it off a 2nd pick… like really?? At 1st I thought we gave a pick with Harris and was still fine 😂
is Kent Hughes number will be retired?
Got him, and a 2nd to take him.
Laine needs to get his teeth fixed with all this money
