  1. The point, that Kane was not mentioned, by spekaing about the forward lines can be alarming. Even if he is not ready until march, this roster spot can making a difference (or the capsapce if he will not play this year.) I'm excited to see this forward group, and hope they can pass the 4.0 GF/GP this year

  2. The Oilers absolutely do! As long as Stuart Skinner is more consistent, and injuries are at a minimum, they should be hungry to get back there, and raise Lord Stanley. Jeff Skinner won't have as much pressure, to be THE GUY, so he can flourish once again. Vancouver will be there biggest threat. If Demko is not ready for the first 6 weeks or so, Edmonton can get a jump on them.

  3. I think they are worse now than they would have been if they have signed Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway at reasonable contracts, so thank you Blues. I still think they win the Pacific, but the Canucks should be right behind.

  4. Really wish my team was in the Pacific rather than the Atlantic. That division continues to get more competitive whereas all the Pacific teams lost pieces or moved laterally

  5. Thanks for telling it like it is, Shannon!
Broberg and Holloway, will be singing the blues..very soon! 👋

  6. Evander Kane not even on the board? He definitely has an impact whether he plays (that "other veteran forward" you would like to see) or doesn't play (cap space).

  7. They did lose two promising pieces. But they still have the top guys and will have a great season. Heck, I expect a load up at the deadline and they'll still be my cup pick. 1st in the Pacific with 106-111 points.

  8. They are pretty old. Counting on a lot of guys well over 30 not declining and staying healthy after a brutal run that fell short. People point to Florida, but Florida is/was way younger across the board. It matters. We shall see.

  9. Hyman is to McDavid what Kurri was to Gretzky, a guy he can bank goals off of to get an assist.

  10. I can't wait to see which ekholm like right shot dman ends up on the team at the deadline or before the deadline

  11. Oilers are primed to be huge buyers at the deadline with them being under the cap now. They have a lot of draft picks to go get rentals.

  12. I feel they have one more big move, maybe the cap is just for signing but I imagine they'll want a rental to push them over the top

  13. What about the leafs??? Oh yeah, They lost in the first round again🤪😅🤡💀

  14. Um…no offense, but you have two LD on the second Oilers pairing, and two RD on the 3rd pairing. Also, doubtful that Perry is on line 3, that RW spot is Connor Brown's to lose in camp.

  15. The Janmark Henrique Brown line is all but set in stone. This line is at least half the leagues second line…

    Ryan (37yo) and Perry (39);will hopefully be our 13 & 14th forwards

Podz and Lavoie should make the team… and without both McLeod and Holloway… we are short a 12thF until Kane returns; Kane likes playing RW so Podz Lavoie Kane.

  16. Someone is gonna want that bottom 6 spot alot Defense is the big question almost feels like a make or break for nurse to play up to the standards he can play at but if the PK can continue the magic it was in the playoffs with janmark/brown and the PP stays on top i wouldnt freak to much. I Wouldnt be surprised if the young goalie rodrigue gets a chance but pickard was good enough

  17. It honestly feels like two conflicting voices in the Edmonton head office were butting heads in the last few days. They traded Ceci with a draft pick to free up cap space and then failed to match either of the two RFA offer sheets. They're now left with an even weaker blueline than they had before and not much in the way of penalty killers. Maybe it's finally time for Podkolzin to get some time on the penalty kill that he never got in Vancouver. Kane was one of the best players for the Oilers when they were playing terrible, but then he was the one playing terrible, likely due to playing injured.

  18. Josh Brown shouldn’t even get top 6 AHL minutes let alone NHL minutes. Emberson had 250 hit pace last year, Amazing defensive metrics on a pathetic team, won best Defensive defensemen in the AHL conference the year before. I think he could surprise a lot of people.

  19. I think we should remember that in the playoffs, Edmonton had a 94.3% PK and a 29.3% PP. They scored three SHGs while only giving up four PPGAs. If they can carry their special teams' momentum forward into the regular season, they're going to be a huge threat.

Of course, it's the Oilers, so they're not allowed to play well until December. As is tradition.

  20. As a Canucks fan I miss when chiarelli was railing the franchise into the ground 🤣

  21. After having their defense severely weakened, can anyone seriously look anyone else in the eye and honestly say this team is even so much as a playoff team. The Oilers look destined to finish 11-13th seed in the conference now. Bad season coming up will also mean Draisaitl leaves for more money.

  22. Why do they score soo much goals nowdays. Is the defense really that bad or are they not allowed to play physical anymore??
