It’s probably the best d core we can have given how badly Dubas fucked up the team cap structure and the fact this organization has to be among the absolute worst in the NHL at drafting and developing the kind of D men that you actually win with.
I am desperately hoping Hakanpää and Webber can give some resemblance of that in the bottom pairings. Admittedly, it’s a desperate reach, but doesn’t hurt to have hope!
It’s going to come down to how the new coaching staff deploys the D. I’m anticipating a dark start of the year.
