With a Tortorella team, they'll be tough night in and night out. However, they're committed to the rebuild, and I expect a step back as the East improves. 7th in the Metro with 81-86 points.

Curious to see Michkov’s impact, as well as PHI under Tortorella in his 3rd year, there. His style worked in Tampa/Columbus for awhile, wore out its welcome in NY and especially quick for VNC.
Regardless of how they perform, the Flyers sneakily have a lot of capital in the next entry draft. They have 3 first rounders, 3 second rounders & 1 third rounder. I could see them making a big trade at the deadline.
The problem with the goaltending was that, after Hart left, Ersson didn’t have a competent backup, leading him to get overplayed which obviously didn’t go well. The games Fedotov were already a “everything is on fire please help us stop the bleeding” kinda moment, and the team in front of him was NOT playing well. If Fedotov can be a more capable backup than Cal (low bar) he can hopefully prevent Ersson from being overplayed.
As a fan I don't really think the Flyers will finish 3rd/4th but I also don't think a lot of metro is good enough for the playoffs. Washington got better (probably?) but they only made it into the playoffs last season because they were near the chair when the music ended, not because they were a playoff team. Somebody has to finish there this season so why not my Flyguys
If couturier has bounce back season Drysdale and the team overall stays healthy and michkov makes the power play better flyers very well could make the playoffs
I have my flyers in the lottery drafting spot again. 2026 is the the year I expect my team to start turning the corner. Several of our center prospects are least two years out. Burglund Luchencko, Alex C if he bounce back from his concussion issues last season has potential.
I expect this year to essentially be a repeat of last year. While this is essentially the Matvei Michkov show now, and a lot of the young guys should be looking to step up, we are still in a rebuild, and are in a position to be making trades for picks and prospects. Ersson is better than he gets credit for, but still has a lot to prove as a starting goalie, and Fedotov doesn't look at all like a viable backup. A lot of the other Metro teams aren't looking as good as last year, so they may finish higher in the standings than many are expecting. Plus, Torts always forces guys to put a good product on the ice.
