    Roberto Luongo

Phase one Lu was incredible, 50 saves in 2-1 losses, 38 save shutouts. When he returned from Vancouver, he lost a step, but was solid for a few more years, and he could retire where he really belonged.

I love still being able to see him in the press box celebrating the cup win, banging the drum in game seven, his speech after MSD. Goat goalie.

I understand the arguments against it but fuck it, it’s Bob. It has to be. He had to be the best player at different times to help win the East in consecutive seasons and then had a virtuoso performance in game 1 of the SCF and sealed the series with a great performance. I love Lu. He didn’t get the support that Bob did. But when the moment came Bob was ready.

Fuck this one is tough. It’s hard to pick Bobrovsky or Luongo over the other.

Luongo was unreal during his first tenure with us. There were games we had no business winning that we did because Lu would stand on his head and make 51 saves in a 1-0 shutout.

But Bobrovsky has been one of if not the most important piece of our two cup runs. He stole the 2nd round and ECF for us last year, and you could argue that he stole the SCF for us this year.

It’s really hard to choose. I say put both of them on there.

This one is really tough. I think Lu is one of the best who ever lived, but Bob has been the best Panther in the big moments. Luongo never had a team or a system like this when he played.

    I’m going with Luongo.

But know this, there’s no Stanley Cup without the performances we got out of Bobby.

Lu and Bob are 1a and 1b. I’d like to think that if Lu had these teams the last few years we would have won a Cup with him as a player.

Bob had some pretty rough stretches. Lu never really had rough stretches that were his fault.

The irony is we didn’t have either goalie in their prime. I’m also curious who the 4 excellent choices are Lu and Bob are the first two. Them add in Beezer as a third. But who is 4th Vokoun?

I am curious who the 4

I vote Luongo because he had to play through some of the toughest times and still be better than most! He also did and still does so much more for the franchise.

We’ve been blessed with Bob and Luongo. We really can’t choose wrong as long as it’s one of them. Hard to choose one over the other as some list both as top ten all time. In most lists I think Luongo is rated higher though.

Doesn’t belong up there but just gotta shout out Vokoun and Vanbiesbrouck. Hall of « being the goalies during unfortunate times »

I am going Lu here. But, I love that Bobby, Beezer, and hell… even Vokoun (!) are all reasonable answers. Historical strength of the franchise for sure.

Where’s the worst person slot for nick cousins?

I’ve got to go with Bob. Bob came through in the big times. Playoffs this year and last. Lu may have done the same had he had a team in front of him. But we don’t know that because he wasn’t in those types of games. Bob was.
I love LU, have a game worn jersey of his, but, gotta go with the empirical evidence.
