Leon's deal should push Marner's UNDER 10M.
What the hell does Marner have to do with Leon? Marner plays scared in the playoffs. Leon brings it in the playoffs. When the going gets rough, Mitch disappears. You can’t compare them. If the leafs sign Mitch to 12 million or more they’re doomed they will never win a cup.
Marner is a great player especially in the reg season but we need a change fo a heavier more physical playoff type guy up front. I have no idea why everyone wants him to resign. If he won't except a trade let him to walk and let him sit asa healthy scratch see if that motivates him to change his tune.
Leafs will buckle like always and give Mitch what he wants.

This is these guys' second big deals. They will be above 30 for the majority of their deals. I would NEVER hive Marner that money past 30. No way!

Marner would probably sign for the same money as Nylander on an 8 year contract with a NMC. He will give up some salary to stay with the Leafs.
The other option is to let him walk and use the cap saving to sign a free agent (Remember Tavares' cap hit will be cut in half at minimum, so the Leafs will have a ton of space.) I guess the target would be for a forward who can score 90+ points and who has a physical side to his game but I am not sure who this is.

I'm not a Dubas fan, he was hired by the Leafs, when the team could have and should have hired a veteran GM, but instead listened to Shanahan and took of Dubas who was way out of his league and his inexperience cost the team HUGE as he drained the picks and prospects and blew many of them ion rentals he knew he couldn't keep, and in effect he pissed away our future and made it extremely difficult for Treliving to improve the team, and he's done a fantastic job considering he stepped onto a sinking ship and somehow has managed to bail water and bring on players who have greatly improved the defence and he is trying to deal with the forward lines currently.
A lot of "fans" have been shitting all over Treliving, either unaware of the shit show he took over, or they're secret "Habs" fans!
If we had the defence the team has now, I believe we would have beat Boston.
