Kopitar's ten foot game was not as good as last year ….he wasn't prepared to battle and go to the greasy areas as per … 2012…it could be worse…. ie tyler seguin! and hey they finished top 4!
He is NOT A STAR!! Dump him!
So bummed that I had to dump the song at the end. Stupid incorrect copyright hunting.
Sadness @CNate ='[ I am surprised everyone is almost in agreement that next year is the most pivotal point of his career. I hope he finds his way. Great piece and great conversation!
Kopitar is a two-way player in a defensive system. He will never be a PPG player unless he goes to an offensive system.
Why did no one mention his inability to win a face off?
Because it isn't a factor. 53.3 during the season and 51.9 in the playoffs isn't really considered "inability"
I forgot the percentage sign on those. 53.3% and 51.9%
faceoffs statistically do not relate to goal opportunities in hockey…. whether you lose or win doesn't impact or determine winners of games….MIT is a good reference for hockey stats.
Carter has a great shot…..Stamkos has the best shot in the NHL ……..not even close!
Stats do not affect the game as much as you'd like to think though. Winning face offs is a huge momentum boost because it makes it easier to hold the puck in the offensive end, and get a good possession going. Puck possession leads to goals, so yes face offs are important towards goals in hockey.
If kopitar can win more offensive zone draws he can create more opportunities for his line. IT'S A HUGE KEY TO HIS SUCCESS, c'mon guys….
I am mor concerned with the 50% win pctg. In the Offensive zone for kopitar. He can do much better.
